Starting off the first of 2 essays tonight. 3500 words in total, 15 hours. Bring it on. I've worked out that by this time next week I will have written 25000 words in essays and assignments this year. Is that a lot?

2nd year out of 4, Serbian/Croatian and East European Studies. Off to Sarajevo for a year in September, could do with a change in scenery.

Dissertation due in a week, 25,000 words just for that. Taking forever but nearly there now.

I'm not sure that a well paid job and self respect is worth that much effort. Well done to those that do

Fuck, that's crazy. Had no idea they were that long.. My year abroad project next year is 8000 and I've been dreading that, puts it all into perspective...

Unfortunately I'm struggling to find a well paid job that will allow me to retain that self respect. Plenty without it mind.

It's because you are only on 23000 words. Once you hit the magic 25000 the cash will flood in.

The word count is fine, hit that ages ago, now having to edit the shit out of it to make it vaguely passable.

Having come out of uni in August and struggled to find 'proper' work since then, I kind of feel like everyone in my life before I decided to go to university had the sense of the underpants gnomes from south park, telling me that:

1. Go to university
2.?????
3. Profit.

Not that I regret university or anything, but everyone said it would be easier than this to find a job after I came out. Liars.

I was thinking of building a perspex box outside downing street, then standing in it whilst it slowly but inevitably fills with concrete and drowns me.

I went to uni just so that I didn't have to get into the world of work for another 4 years, I'm going to be working until 65 anyway (probably 75 by then)

We got told they were cutting the word limit down to 15,000 in our year. Ours was absolute pap, more holes than a seive and the second marker tore us to shreds. But we still got 69% (Giggity).

Unless there's been a massive overhaul in the SOM in the last 12 months, as long as you vaguely know what your doing, and show that you've put time into it, you'll be fine.

History and politics.

Last day of the semester tomorrow, the perennial struggle between man and work is taking place. Man is losing.

I'm lying in a bunk in a tour bus, trying to sleep after a 20 hour day knowing we have to load in to Cardiff arena in 4 hours. This is not a glamorous life. 15 blokes and one girl farting in a moving tin can.
