It was mentioned last week that Nick was leaving the club. Would imagine he sorted the season ticket sales amongst other things before his departure.

Had heard it was on the cards but didn't think he'd be off quite that quick, last week he still seemed undecided. He's still on the OS as CEO and Director also.

Big loss if he has gone/does go.

Nick said his goodbyes in last weeks programme and he said he was probably leaving the following day. Good bloke who will be missed by most supporters.

Yeah nice guy always had time to walk round and talk to fans before the games. Thanks Nick you did a damn good job whilst you were, here and I would hope you will come back and watch us.

Nick Watkins was/is a top bloke and will be missed by STFC. Good interaction with the fans, replying to emails and an all round good guy! Cheers Nick!

Shame he is going, for me he was the last person left at the club that I would have trusted to keep an eye on the new guys and ensure things are being done correctly, there is no one left now that would have this sort of knowledge.

Not saying the new guys will do things wrong but I always felt comftable that Nick was still there and was a genuine guy

Just caught the end of that interview. Very down to earth and sincere guy. Wish him the very best & would like to think he could get involved at some point in the future. Seemed to have gained a lot of passion for the club having originally come from a r***y background!!

Although true, I don't think we should assume it's something that has sinister undertones...it was always going to happen. Nevertheless we're still no further forward in uncovering the identity of the mystery money men. Good or bad this is something that needs to happen...and I feel it's something the TEF has to keep pushing despite the objections of the  :clap:

The long term reliable poster Chris, has come up with a couple of names...and received negative comments from PaulD and yourself. There clearly isn't someone walking around with mystery STFC investor stamped on their forehead, so this isn't an easy process. People should be encouraged to speculate based on the fragments of evidence they can find, rather than be discouraged...the Duffen one seemingly although wrong, wasn't ludicrously wide of mark.

People are only questioning the reliability of the source (which in Chris' case often seem to be the Daily Mail). By all means lets look into the people behind it but that does not mean reacting to unsubstantiated rumour from relatively unknown sources. If we're to pay attention to every bit of information we had might as well start taking our information from that football rumours site. I bet there's some blinders on there at the moment.

I questioned what he was presenting as fact on the basis he'd produced two different names in two different threads in as many hours, neither with any back-up and neither post or name referenced to each other. Which struck me as just throwing names out at random - throw enough shit at the wall and see what sticks - and so I said so. I'd see that as healthy scepticism rather than happy clapping but each to their own.

And FWIW both may yet turn out to be correct.

Nick Watkins will be hugely missed by all parts of the life of the club,; he would have been a steady hand at a time of major change and continuing uncertainty.

Nick Watkins introduced me to Steve Murrall as the general manager at the Preston game. You could tell from the way he spoke to me he was on his way out.

Bit harsh. Sometimes Reg is a proper miserable sod seemingly for the sake of it; unfortunately quite a lot of the time he's a proper miserable sod with very good reason, this being Swindon Town and all :)

Plus, as far as I know, Reg has never invaded Poland. But he's probably got a story about invading a Polish lady friend...

Fair comment Paul. FWIW I actually respect what Reg says, just wish he wasn't so downbeat all the time. Sometimes surely you just have to enjoy the good times. After all there's plenty of bad times.  Sorry Reg, you miserable sod. :-)

Loved his comment re PDC and it was like manageing with a live hand grenade!!  He threw it and Nick had to follow behind to clear up the mess!!  Thanks Nick for all you did for STFC.

This became Nick's speciality and full time job mopping up after PDC.

I always make the point about enjoying the afterglow of a particularly good STFC win, because you know there's bound to be some shit just round the corner. The emphasise though should be on enjoying the moment...

Polish birds eh....very often beautiful, but quite mad. I put it down to the the influence of the Catholic church....burdens them with guilt.

My most recent encounter with one, has ended badly, insofar as it seems my keeping my armaments within their natural borders, precipitated a sense of rejection that could only be plugged, by the good lord.

Eastern Orthodox, in any its guises, seems a much better bet...not much idea what they believe in other than it appears to be vaguely Christian.

The good news much anticipated by Nigel Farage and his numerous fellow travellers on the TEF...is the likely influx of many Bulgarian birds  :)
