Hope it stays that way or maybe Stevenage can sneak a win against Brentford, that would be excellent.

only downside to that is that they're playing Slimeball Evans's Rotherham - I almost dislike him as much as Oxford.

To be fair to them the Red Card was a shocker.

I think even the Madrid players were shocked.

2-1 down now

Harsh to say the least. But if you stick your leg out like that it's always a possibility if you connect.

Looking forward to the interview with Fergie after the game.

But if it had happened to one of our players at the County Ground I woud have been screaming for a red card.

So true.

Mourinho has the air of a man this evening who thinks he'll be the main man at Old Trafford before long.  I think Man United would be insane to pass up the opportunity and see him go back to Chelsea.  Ferguson should announce his retirement on a high after winning the title at the end of this season.  I've got bugger all interest in the Premier League normally, so my opinion counts for not a lot...but that's what I think anyway.

Absolutely, just as you would scream for handball every time it hits a defender in the area anywhere above the waist.

However I would be hugely surprised if it was actually given

Indeed. Even if Fergie ain't ready to go they should move him upstairs rather than miss out on Mourinho. Though I can't see him ever going back to Chelsea, don't see him wanting to work for the trigger happy Russian again.

Ferdinand claps in the ref's face at full time.  Ferguson walks off jabbing his finger at the ref.  No class at all.  Any sympathy I had for the harsh red card just went.

Having watched it again at full speed I'm siding with the ref, it looked pretty bad. Sure there was no intent, he was watching the ball and hadn't seen the player but that's no excuse. Though it's one of those decisions that could have gone either way.

It genuinely seems as if nobody wants these automatic promotion spots.  I don't think I've ever known so much chopping and changing around.

Top results last night. Doncaster have a tough game at Bournemouth on Saturday (I guess a draw would be the best result) and Sheff U are at home to the Dongs. A chance to go top this weekend - Walsall will be a tough game however.

The incident reminded me of the Greer sending off in the PO game V Charlton. I can see why it was given, but you just have to get on with it.

Greer's was a lot more intentional.

I do think both were reds though.

I guess it's all down to the ref's opinion as to whether it was "reckless play" that falls under unsporting conduct and is a yellow card offence, or "serious foul play" which is a red card offence.

All depends on whether he thought Nani was aware of the presence of the Real player.

The top of the table is as tight as a gnats chuff, it still really is anybodies, Tranny were running away with it before Christmas now have been up and down since, then Boremuffs go then Sheff Utd then Donny, we have had a short stint there too....it really could go any way with no out right favourites.

I think it's ours to lose. Bold statement, but I believe as we have to play Sheff U, Donny, Brentford & Yeovil in the run in, if we win those games then because of how tight it is we'll be top. Knowing us though, we'll lose to Scunny or Oldham and chuck it away.

I'm a glass half empty kind a guy. I saw our difficult run in as a problem but your way is a much better way of looking at things.
Still agree with the Scunny Oldham bit though

Some massive games coming up against Brentford and Yeovil. We then have the 2 South Yorkshire teams to play in April too.

From those 4 away games, I think we need at least 8 points.

Title: Re: Tonights games

Agreed.

8 of the other top half teams to play, 5 of those away.

If we do go up this season, we'll definitely have earned it.

Yep. I'd agree with that too. I think we're good enough but we'll have to play to the top of our game to make it. Some very tough away games but we're capable.
