Hope you are all looking forward to your visit to the Ricoh Saturday.
How do you think you with fare?

We are pretty average at home and atmosphere can be a tad on the pindrop side unless the game hots up, however we usually react when a team brings a few numbers.

How many you sold now and expecting realistically to bring?

Was an entertaining game earlier in the season.

Places to drink - The train station is near the city centre and pubs can be found in the centre, buses are regular down towards the Ricoh and cost roughly £3.

Nearer the ground the Black Horse is for away fans and the coach and horses in Longford has now been known to allow away fans in.

Other pubs such as the wheatcheaf can provide adequate entertainment.

If travelling by coach and going straight to the Ricoh, then the casino offers refreshments and is very welcoming to all.

Food outlets around the ground? Chippy?

Hi,

A good chippy is down Longford opposite the Longford Engine pub.  You also have the casino but that is not your usual chips and burgers.

As the ground is located on the bypass next to a huge shopping park for sados on a Saturday, you can easily find burger stalls, and a greggs there too.  Burger fans can be found outside the ground too like many other stadiums.

I would suggest parking at the Black Horse pub as parking onsite at the Ricoh is a joke to be honest and takes forever. You may need to walk approx 1.2 miles down the bypass though but many many fans do this.

Parking can also be made at a few pubs around Longford and Foleshill Rd - post code CV6 6GS AREA ( charge around £3-£5).

How To Get There And Where To Park

Leave the M6 at Junction 3. Take the A444 towards the city centre and after one mile you will reach the stadium on your left.

 Parking at the stadium is mostly for permit holders, although the Club do sell on the day spaces in Car Park  C at £10 per car, although it is best to book a space in advance. Blue badge holders can also park at the stadium itself but again at a cost of £10. The Club are also utilising a number of car parks within walking distance of the stadium, in such places as factory units and local schools. The cost of these official car parks varies on venue but are around £2.50-£5 per vehicle. See the Ricoh Arena Parking website for more details.

The nearby Tesco car park is well 'policed' on matchdays. Free parking is restricted to two hours only unless you spend £25 or more in one of the shops on the Retail Park (you then display the receipt in your windscreen), which include Next, Boots and Marks & Spencers. In addition an extensive 'residents only' parking scheme has been put in place for all residential streets within a least a mile of the ground.

 There is also a private car park run by Leisure Ireland, located a few minutes drive away from Junction 3 of the M6. It has 200 spaces and is then a 15 minute walk away from the stadium. It advertises as secure parking and apparently getting back to the motorway after the match is very easy. The cost to park there is £3 per car and to find the car park, follow the 'pink arrow' signs from Junction 3 of the M6. Fans are encouraged to pre-book their places online. However please note to then get to the stadium you have to cross a rather busy dual carriageway, so please bear this in mind if you have young children or older person in your party. Nearby is a similar set-up called Ricoh Arena Parking and again you book online (cost £4.35 in advance, £5 on the day). From Junction 3 of the M6 take the B4113 towards Bedworth at the first roundabout take the 3rd exit and the car park is down on the right, almost opposite the Novotel. Also note that both car parks close one hour after the final whistle. Closer to the stadium in Oban Road (opposite the Longford Engine CV6 6HH) are two private car parks run by Ricoh Arena Event parking. Spaces can also be pre-booked and cost £3 per car (or £4 on the day if spaces are available).

So what is your away support usually like? I gather this will be your biggest away following of the season, but how would you sum it up?

Appreciate it mate. That pub has some quality scores I see though.

Our away support MILES better than our home but hope your louder than some of the drivel we have had at home this season for the day.

As for Black Horse, its a dive but away friendly.

Not always.  Can be a bit hit and miss IMO. Away games where the vast majority already have tickets and sit in allocated seats, tends to mean the singers/standers are mixed in with the quiet sitters.  Not always the case though.

Out of town stadiums awful, virtually every Coventry fan prefers our real home Highfield Road, such a better day out.

All I remember of Swindon was the mental round about not tooooo far and the entertaining game and good banter between the two sets of fans, after many many  :pint:

Another place for pre-match food is Foleshill Road.

Smash some of the best samosas ever.

We are shocking at home, its away where we have been having the biggest averaging away attendances in the league, at home we roughly get 12,000 that includes away following, but this is a decent game so I would hope for 15,500 Saturday with a bit of luck, that includes your support though.

Two good sides should be a decent game and hopefully a good atmosphere can follow.
