I want Tim Sherwood from that list, just the matter that A he wouldn't come and B we couldn't afford him.

Apart from that he's ours!

I went for Hasselbaink, firstly as a joke (ha ha), secondly because he has a fantastic name that would surely lend itself to many imaginative chants, thirdly because i find all the other candidates uninteresting, fourthly because he might teach our strikers to finish, and fifthly because ex-Chelsea players from around that era (Di Matteo, Gus Poyet, Gianfranco Zola) have all gone on to forge very successful managerial careers despite being dubious candidates for management (just like our Jimmy).

If you disagreed and went for Tisdale it's because he is black.

Meh, Tisdale at a push...

None of those.

Having no clue how much assistant managers get at Premier League clubs and having no idea whether they would even want a go as manager anyway - so could be the most unrealistic shouts going but...

Graeme Jones or Ian Culverhouse

I'm sure Swansea approached Wigan about Jones but he turned down the chance to speak to them before they hired Laudrup. If any f that is true, and I'm 99% certain it is, that's him ruled out.

Culverhouse could be a good shout.

I voted for Phil Brown, because he is a northern prick.

Steve cotterill. Able and available. Doubt he'd break the bank and carries himself well.

Tisdale. Should have appointed him instead of Di Canio, he lives locally and is a very good manager who can work on a tight budget. I believe he applied last time as well.

I believe you are wrong, apparently he has said he has not applied for any job since he has become manager of Exeter and has turned down Southampton and Swansea approaches for him.

Very unlikely to be going anywhere then? We are interested in him too.

Unlikely he will leave them for any club outside of the Championship IMO so thats us, you and Coventry set to be upset......are you looking for a new manager then? Wilder on a tightrope?

I voted for Tisdale, on the basis that he seems to be able to operate well under a budget (which, quite rightly, we will need to adhere to to a greater extent from now on).  However, it would take a great selling job from the new owners to get him here...and I'm not sure they're up to it.  Still a little wet behind the ears.  If I was an Exeter fan, I would rest easy - for now.

Otherwise, I like the idea of Owen Coyle...but cannot really put my finger on why.  I would also not be at all averse to offering a 4 month contract to someone.

Steve Coppell now in the betting for Coventry managers job apparently too.

He wouldn't be my choice but he is experienced.

I would rather Tisdale but thats inceasing unlikely IMO so maybe Coyle might be a good shout, hes done well at St Johnstone, Falkirk and Burnley and not quiet so well at Bolton but is the sort of experienced manager we could do with. Failing that Steve Cotterill.

Coppell turned us down once before for the permanent manager's job on the basis that the club looked like the aftermath of a car crash.  Nothing much seems to have changed in that respect.

I think that's a bit unfair.

Really Ardiles?

2nd in the league and debt free-ish. A car crash?

How long does it take sort sort out compensation for a manager?

This could rule out somebody like Tisdale if we want to make an appointment before Saturday.

Hasselbaink could be an inspired appointment or a complete failure.

On that basis, I want him.

Thats the Swindon way.  Periods of huge excitement and success interspersed with dismal failure and depression.  We really are the most bi polar club going.

Sadly if Tisdale won't go to Southampton then he won't come here.
Exeter were in League 1 then, after a relegation perhaps he is more desperate for a job higher up the pyramid.

Wilder's contract is up at the end of the season. If he fails to deliver the playoffs at least then it probably won't be renewed. We're currently 9 points off the bottom playoff place, with 12 games left.

Coyle wouldn't take a job outside the Championship I expect, though you are in a decent position to get there soon.

I'm not going to vote as I would have absolutely no idea which of these candidates would be the best. All I could go on would be what they looked like or biased press articles.
