Title: Week in Madrid Post by: RedOx on Friday, February 15, 2013, 16:34:12 Off to Madrid for 5 days next week with Mrs RO.
We have been there before and have done the stadium tour (RM) and generally taken in the city's bars and resturants. We hear that the bullring is worth visiting so will be doing that at some point. Any other suggestions oh wise TEF? Cheers. Title: Re: Week in Madrid Post by: Saxondale on Friday, February 15, 2013, 16:37:20 If you're an Ox dont go to the bullring. They may get confused.

Trouble is, it's in Birmingham Title: Re: Week in Madrid Post by: wigglesworth on Friday, February 15, 2013, 17:28:49 Get her really drunk and do anal. Can't go wrong. 8)
Title: Re: Week in Madrid Post by: RedRag on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 09:35:06 I was there early last summer when Athletico had just won the Europa - loads of red and white striped shirts, civic bus tours and a great atmosphere in the bars.
Wiggy's idea seems more Macclesfield than Madrid to me Why not instead: walk round the trendy mercado san miguel (just off the Plaza Mayor), half shopping market, half eating and drinking market where you can sample an array of foods and drink from rioja and trad tapas through to champagne and oysters take a stroll through el parque del buen retiro round the back of the Prado on a half decent day on a Sunday wander down Las Ramblas flea market and end up with a drink in a scruffy tapas bar wonder at the Salvador Dalias and Paolo Picassos at the Museo Nacional del Arte Reina Sofia Title: Re: Week in Madrid Post by: THE FLASH on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 12:02:27 There is an excellent seafood restaurant like a Tardis....
Will get you details. Title: Re: Week in Madrid Post by: cheltred69 on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 15:11:17 Good place for a weekend but make sure u watch out for petty criminals.
My wife went with her mates and one had her handbag nicked. A couple of years later my wife had her credit card stolen in a restaurant . Also small groups of gypsy looking kids around metro actively picking pockets. Probably just been unlucky but worth being specially vigilant. Mrs RO doesn't take a handbag out as we pay in cash. Shame but Madrid and Barca both have their lowlifes :( Title: Re: Week in Madrid Post by: RedOx on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 18:26:04 There is an excellent seafood restaurant like a Tardis.... This is it.....it looks small like a Tapas bar but it's fucking massive inside. Go in and get a raffle ticket....the head waiter will under no circumstances allow people to queue jump even those who offer money. We waited for about half an hour.....excellent. They have bowls of seafood in the window all piled up with seafood. I know Man Utd fans were paying mucho euros a pint in the Irish bars around Sol for the RM game, but we would rather go to the local places like before and so this place is a welcome new one for us, cheers :) Just one thing, did you two go to this place as a couple.... ;) :D Title: Re: Week in Madrid Post by: jutty274 on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 22:24:42 No i have never been to Madrid but my boss was on about the same place about 2 weeks ago & i e-mailed him the link.
