Going. I presume the club want to fill out the ground for money purposes (meet those running costs we keep hearing about), and also to create a decent atmosphere, but perhaps the new consortium will be coming along, and they want to show the club off a bit?

I just purchased an extra ticket for Saturday online and can see we've sold loads over the past two days. Should be 9k+ there.

Hopefully by Saturday the takeover will be complete, PDC will have committed his future to Swindon and we will have a packed CG and a big home victory.

It would never be that easy though, would it?

I may not be able to get my ticket until Saturday so can someone let me know whether you can sit where you like in the town end or do the stewards insist that you sit in your allocated seat? Ta.

It is allocated seating but on the booking site there were hundreds of spare seats in the TE.

Got my tickets this afternoon. Only seats left were in the 'wings' of the Arkells and DRS and they were going fast.

Should be a fair old crowd!

Because of the offer, everyone has moved in to the Arkells and Don Rogers Stands. Plenty of seats in the Town End.

That was the case when I bought my ticket online anyway.

With the bank shut, and Pools bringing at best 100, by my maths should be around 10500. Maybe if the demand is there, the bank might be opened?

That was the case when I bought mine on Wednesday, loads free in the TE but selling out on both side stands.

Looking on the ordering site...

DRS stand about 300 left. Capacity @ 4,800.
Arkells stand about 1,000 left. Capacity @ 5,800.
Town End stand about 700 left. Capacity @ 2,000.

Makes it about 10,500ish sold so far.

It does look that way, I think there could still be a late run on tickets if the takeover is ratified early today and Paolo comes out saying he is staying and the new signings sign for us (best case scenario!).

Remember that 5,800 also includes an allocation of 1200 away fans. So we are probably tracking closer to 9,500 at the moment.

Ah true I had forgot that :) yes you are right around 9,500 then so far is about right because Hartlepool will bring no more than 50 fans maximum I recon.

Also, restricted view tickets aren't available online.

Gotta love the optimism of a team 2 points adrift at the foot of the league, 10 points away from the safety position of 20th place, a goal difference of -26 and just 2 away wins and 4 away draws all season, 2nd highest goals conceded in the league and the lowest goals scored in the league.

We have score 6 more goals in home games alone that they have scored home and away this season in total including all cup games.

Still wierder things have happened and we havent beaten them in the last 3 meetings at the CG with our last win at home coming in 2007 with Cox and Corr scoring.

Matchday tickets are printed the day before the game so will appear to be sold on the ordering site. They usually print 1,200, so in reality we're looking at 9,300ish.

But haven't they been on a good run of late, clawing back points on those around them? They have also got nothing to lose, while we are allegedly in disarray having lost our best player and possibly losing our talismanic manager? I'd quite fancy playing us now to be honest.

They have won the last 2 games but they were against Notts County and Pompey and anyone can beat them at the moment!

Prior to that they had 1 win in 26 games, albeit away at Sheff Utd.

It's been 3 games since things went a bit Reg on us. Of those game we lost none and won one. They were all away.

We havent been beaten since November and have won the last 4 home games without conceding a goal against and up against a team that has only scored 14 goals away from home who are rock bottom.

Now if we can't be a little confident now against that opposition when can we be confident?

This is Swindon, we should never feel confident!

And usually I don't but of all clubs to play I would rather it was them than pretty much any other team at home, except maybe Pompey who are as good as relegated for me.

And all on pitches that resembled bogs. We should be confident (although not complacent) about tomorrow back on hallowed turf....

He should have saved himself a quid or two and got all the free papers he could find, rip them up into bin liners and stand outside the ground charging £1 a handful.

Looks like I'll have to be in the town end for this one, judging be a quick peek at the online sales.

I've just remembered I had hair the last time I was in there, Christ that was a long time ago!

Just had a look on there also, trying to get a couple of late comers tickets near our group in the DRS - there's virtually none apart from a few single seats dotted around! Not that many in the NS or TE either, judging by that we could be looking at 10500 plus tomorrow. Lets hope they're all in good voice!

Slightly off topic...but talking of decent crowds, Rovers are expecting to take nearly 2,000 to Oxford tomorrow.  Impressive showing.  But coming so soon after last weekend's 'Ultimate Support Saturday' when, after a big push, Oxford managed to take 600 odd to Southend - maybe just a little embarrassing for the hosts.

I know a number of people who are going tomorrow who very rarely go.  They've obviously been enticed by the lower price, but it's also because they want to be part of showing their support to to Di Canio and the team in a difficult.  Even Swindonians who aren't that close to the club seem to have been really drawn into the whole saga of the last week or so and desparately want Paolo to stay.

I can't wait for this (a first time for every fixture). You can feel the atmosphere building already. It's going to be weird that, unlike normally in a 'big atmosphere' game, none of it will be directed at the opposition fans (who are basically, with due respect to the committed few that make the trip, irrelevant in all this), it will all be for Paolo and the new owners.

I'm a sucker for cheap laughs at the expense of our self regarding neighbours who think they support a big club and would be way too stupid to see the delicious irony you spotlight.
