If Di Canio it getting bored by being told to f--- off then how about we entertain him by declaring Saturday an administration themed party day?

We could all go in suits and make a variation on the theme of a ticker tape welcome by lobbing P45s onto the pitch to greet the Swindon players.

Richie could make an appropriate record selection = "Tax Man", "Money, Money, Money", "Pennies from Heaven" etc.

During the match we can chant at the Swindon players
You're not getting paid,
You're not getting paid,
You're not getting,
You're not getting,
You're not getting paid!

Any other ideas?

Maybe some of their supporters could line up along the touchline and blow some more hot air across the pitch?  It might just work.

I suspect this is possibly a pre-emptive move in view of the potential snow tonight! However it was supposed to be snowing here (Manchester) from lunchtime and its done nothing yet so I wouldnt place too much trust in the forecast.

They've got a couple of injuries to key players and knew they'd lose to us. It's a conspiracy I tell you.

I remember going to Bolton for the League Cup semi final, got all the way to the ground before finding out it was called off. Not a pleasant feeling to know after spending 3 hours+ in the car to get there, you have to turn around and do it all again. Now I never go to a game without having the radio on just in case....

Starting to look like it lately - they can run but they will have to face us soon!

Think we have got some worried about us all of a sudden.

Bloody frustrating but to be fair it looks like they are going to get a good covering of snow up there tonight. If they could find any volunteers not on ASBO's and 6pm curfews they may of been able to shift it.

I can remember clearing their pitch of Snow back in January 86. Lou Macari wanted the game postponed but the ref was happy as long as the lines were cleared.

Didn't help much as we lost 3-1

But at least we won the title that season  ;D

You'd be surprised. I've been to Fleetwood and their facilities are top notch. The home bar puts the Legends Lounge to shame so I can only imagine what the facilities are like in their main stand where the boxes are.

Apparently they have been chomping at the bit to play us and get revenge though which makes this decision even more baffling. Oh well. To be honest it's probably good that we get a few days extra rest ahead of a busy few weeks.

Is ther no way we can complain about this, it's a joke, the weather from midnight up their is above freezing and by 3am 5 degrees. Surely a 8a, pitch inspection would have been better?

Title: Re: Tranmere Game Off??

Following on from that, does a football league rep have to check to confirm the pitch is already unplayable now they have postponed?

If they've had as much snow up there as I suspect then it would probably have been off anyway. To call it off for a frozen pitch at lunchtime today with the forecasted temperatures is pretty baffling though.

Fixture computer and Mother Nature not been kind to us the last month or so. First we had to play Leyton Orient in the wettest place in league one on Boxing Day, then we get Colchester 3 days later when they've had more rain than the rest of the country. Now we get Tranny when it seems they're situated in the coldest spot in the country.

Annoying? Nah!

I would like to think that the FL will ask Tranmere how they did not manage to get the game on when games are currently being played at Burnley, Carlisle, Preston, Fleetwood and Hyde Cunting United.

If true, then surely it will have to be looked into?  I assume the ref called it off, but it makes you wonder why they didn't have covers on the pitch Thursday night given the weather, which apparently they didn't?

I take it back, Hyde Cunting United's game is off. I'm not one for conspiracy theories but it does seem a bit odd that a number of games in fairly close proximity to Prenton Park are being played and yet our game is off.

Think about it OST...atm Tranmere are bricking it at the thought of playing us, give it a month and we could be a completely different club, got to worth a punt from their point of view.

That's what I'm saying Reg. I don't like to put forward conspiracy theories but I have to say I don't think Trannies were overly bothered about getting the game on. There are a lot of games being played today which wouldn't be getting played if the respective clubs didn't want to get them on. The same goes for our game last week.

I can't abide whinging football fans and their conspiracy theories but as I say, this postponement seems a bit odd to me.

I went to fleetwood v pox corporate.

Pitch was sticky but playable (although the pox were shite and couldn't!).

I flew into Liverpool airport from Amsters early pm and there had been snow but it was 6 degrees and just slush.

I just don't think they took enough precautions for the pitch....if they meant not to is the discussion?

I have my doubts that they wanted the game to go ahead. That is three times in the last month that our game has been the first game off, more than 24 hours before KO.

If it was 6 degrees as Flash says then how the hell could the pitch be frozen still? I think the number of games played means that it wasn't.

Now I would have been more pissed off with travelling only to see it called off, I do think this inspection was far too early at the very least.

And I just remembered - in the days of the old Shrivvy Road Stand, on more than one occasion games were called off because if winds of something stupid like over 3mph were forecast the stand was deemed to be unsafe in those circumstances.

We were virtually in Liverpool by the time the postponement came through. Had the weekend booked since August.  Lots of snow late Friday night on the Wirrell but had mostly gone by Saturday morning - which was much milder. Decided to go watch Fleetwood tonk Pox and had a cackling time with the locals who loved the fact we were enjoying their win as much as they were.
Town hats and scarves were worn once safely inside the ground, which is actually really nice with a great fans bar.

We found a STFC 50-50 draw ticket on us which we left on the windscreen of the Pox Jack FM car just to round their day off nicely.  Pox were shocking!
