Title: Farewell Chico Post by: mrverve on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:04:31 Oliver Risser has left by mutual consent, expected to join Aldershot.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:04:56 POW! Right in the Risser.
Title: Oliver Risser Released Post by: [email protected] on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:05:31 By mutualt consent. Would have liked to have seen more of him as I thought he was okay and could have improved, but realistically was not likely to get a game for us this season with our current squad, and it releases some funds to keep the current loanees.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: bigbobjoylove on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:06:34 Always tried his best and scored a couple of very memorable goals.
Good luck to him. Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Gnasher on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:11:52 Genuinley nice guy who scored two brilliant goals. We'll ignore the rest ;)
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Notts red on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:13:34 Following in his brother Wilkos footsteps, although he may have left the shots now? Liked Rissers total commitment and passion and wish him well.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Abrahammer on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:17:08 Nice guy, great debut goal but he is so last season. Wouldn't get anywhere near our starting lineup these days.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Coca Fola on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:17:46 I was hoping that the one from x factor had died. Disappointed.

Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Coca Fola on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:31:41 6 of the top 10 are from last season, wouldn't read a lot into that. We were just very good.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Flashheart on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:31:42 Never known a player to be so open to the fans. He was always happy to chat on Facebook. All the best Oli
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:31:56 I was there to witness his exocet against Crewe on the opening day of last season. Never really impressed me in the handful of games I saw but sounded like a nice guy and probably worked harder than anyone else in training (this is only a guess of course).
Was better than Pook. Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Ginginho on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:32:56 Risser was our most succesful player of all time. http://www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk/StatAttack/PlayerSuccess.asp?Type=Most Ha, that's amazing. Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Ardiles on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:34:42 So statfans - who can name the club's 37th most successful player of all time?
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Ardiles on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:35:27 That sounds like a really bad pub quiz question, doesn't it.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:36:02 Ha, that's amazing. Who is the mystery player at 37? Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: jutty274 on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:42:59 I was hoping that the one from x factor had died. Disappointed. I thought the same thing. Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: TheDukeOfBanbury on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:44:11 Great guy and a real gent.
Good luck to him, always gave 100% and that's what you want as a fan. As mentioned would be way down the pecking order now so best for all moving on. As for the twats who abused him in Town......low life scum. Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: LucienSanchez on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:45:35 Wasn't very good at football, but he tried, bless him.

Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Notts red on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:56:46 Now playing in South Africa, according to ShotsWeb. One Comment said " Not another German " ! Wilko played against Oliver in the game down there the night we were hoping for promotion and had a fairly good game. I can See Oliver plying his trade like his brother back in Africa before long but hope it works out for him wherever he goes. http://www.shotsweb.co.uk/mb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32687 Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Paolo69 on Monday, January 7, 2013, 13:58:02 I was going for Bobby Barnes....then i realised it might be pixelated.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Dozno9 on Monday, January 7, 2013, 14:00:41 Daley Thompson played for us? He should've stuck to athletics. Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Dozno9 on Monday, January 7, 2013, 14:02:11 BTW I don't know who the fuck it is.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Notts red on Monday, January 7, 2013, 14:02:19 Paul Ince? He played half a game or so, perhaps we never lost whilst he was playing :)
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: TheMajorSTFC on Monday, January 7, 2013, 14:02:46 Missed the Crewe game, but he scored a great goal against AFC Wimbledon in the JPT last season...tried hard, nice guy, good luck!
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: dporter on Monday, January 7, 2013, 14:11:54 My guess is a certain Mr Rogers Yeah i'm sure it is too! Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: suttonred on Monday, January 7, 2013, 15:12:35 The 2 standouts were the goal against crewe, and the headbutt at Northampton, the rest was pretty forgettable, 100% trier though.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: THE FLASH on Monday, January 7, 2013, 15:24:06 I will always remember the away game at Cheltnumb when we all turned up in numbers and the performance was pish.
He came over to the fans and some piss pots gave him some stick....he just said he was disappointed but was sure we would improve.....excellent. Title: Re: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: tans on Monday, January 7, 2013, 15:47:09 Fair play Ollie, you even have your own thread on yellowsforum

Panic stations people Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Ardiles on Monday, January 7, 2013, 16:38:33 To be fair, there are just as many threads on there about Oxford being doomed. We're doomed; they're doomed. Everyone is doomed.
Might as well end it all now. Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Ardiles on Monday, January 7, 2013, 16:39:53 Who is 'quagmire', by the way? Does he/she have an alter ego on here?
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Flashheart on Monday, January 7, 2013, 16:50:57 Quote Oliver is a different kind of player. From what i've seen he's an inteliigent and combative midfielder, should be good at breaking down the opposition and providing some decent distribution. His time at Swindon and 13 League One appearances this season should really stand to him. Hopeful that this will be a really decent signing, if Oliver performs he will be just the kind of player who can get out out of the relegation mire. http://www.shotsweb.co.uk/mb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32702&sid=aacf108db9b323a28032411a1858bb32 Who's going to tell them? Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: TheDukeOfBanbury on Monday, January 7, 2013, 20:29:59 You bastards you made me peep on the Pox forum site :).................and i thank you.
The general theme: "Why have our crowds gone down ?" Are they that fucking stupid !! ........BECAUSE YOU ARE SHIT .........bloody hell and this is a top university City............ Every other reason but rarely the above is mentioned.........as always living in our shadow it's well known by all they must be the most deluded fans in the Country. Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: singingiiiffy on Monday, January 7, 2013, 20:55:24 only me that thinks he will be a good signing for them in league 2! he was really shaky at the start but towards the end of the season he became really settled and started to provide decent cover for us when we had injuries at centre back. il remember him for games at southend away where he got a standing ovation when coming off near the end and if i remember rightly he was brilliant coming on against barnet to get us wembley. good luck to him
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Nomoreheroes on Monday, January 7, 2013, 21:00:30 Real shame that it hasn't worked out here.
Don't like the fact that he got a lot of grief from fans. From what everyone has said, he seemed like a decent bloke and a 100% trier. Don't have a problem when this happens to those who have ideas above their station, but Risser didn't come across like that. I hope that he does well at Aldershot and forges a decent lower league career for himself. Title: Re: Re: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, January 7, 2013, 21:25:27 Who's going to tell them? Well he can do the combative and destructive part, its just the intelligence and distribution bit that was something of an issueTitle: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: suttonred on Monday, January 7, 2013, 21:45:06 He has got that in his armoury. At Crewe last year he was spraying around 40,50 yard passes, he just didnt do it much, dont know if it was under orders or confidence, he rarely played after that so I dont know.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: THE FLASH on Monday, January 7, 2013, 22:18:18 Who is 'quagmire', by the way? Does he/she have an alter ego on here? When you click on his name it then says he's only played 26 (7 as a sub) so dunno where the 50 odd has come from?Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 00:33:57 That seems a lot more likely.
Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Honkytonk on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 00:53:17 Thunderbolt against Crewe, solid(ish) Defensive midfielder, heart was in the right place, shame his feet sometimes weren't. Good luck to him, and his service was very much appreciated, always will be a player I want to see do well.
Also only Namibian to score at Wembley. Just a shame it was for the wrong team... Title: Re: Farewell Chico Post by: Riddick on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 09:08:04 One of the poorest players i've seen play for us. Has next to no football ability and it took him every ounce of concentration to make a 5 yard pass. He had a great attitude and worked his nuts off and some fans liked him because of that. Was never going to be good enough at this level, wasn't really good enough at league two level

Was never going to be good enough at this level, wasn't really good enough at league two level He featured in 40 games for us last season and we won the league. This would suggest that your last sentence isn't quite true. Unless we managed to win with 10 men in a lot of games obviously.
