Its not exactly well hidden that there is not much love between Bodin and Paolo.

But is there a need to air this in public? Paolo thinks there is and he is not backward in saying what he thinks!

PdC's job is on the line if the first team fails to peform.

If he feels a subordinate employee is not doing his job properly and therefore may well affect his ability to get the first team to perform I reckon he's well within his rights to try and sort it out.

Just because PB is a long standing, well-liked former player shouldn't protect him from criticism.

I can imagine our club backsliding into its usual non-entity status if/when PdC leaves if the foundations haven't been laid for the incoming manager to build on.

He's not being an arse for the hell of it - he genuinely does what does and says what he says for the good of the club.

Sounds to me that PDC thinks Bodin is sniping behind his back internally at the club, and not doing his job as well as PDC thinks he should...

We might well have players who were "ready" coming through at 18 if the big clubs didn't poach them before they reached that age. Stevens and Henshall come to mind from recent years, unfortunately this is pretty much the reality of football at the moment.

Re hashed interview from last week.

This was said to BBC wilts in the post match interview after the Oldham game on Saturday I think.

Indeed and the Advertiser seems to be doing this a lot (either that or Paolo keeps making the same statement regarding Wray in various interviews!)

But its pennies from heaven for the Advertiser they know that there is an issue and thus I imagine youth and Bodin is a fertile line of questioning everytime they speak to him!

Not saying that it should be aired in public when it definitely shouldn't but I am also getting a little bored of the Advertiser stirrring the shit constantly.

There would be no shit to stir if PDC didn't keep feeding it to them. They're just doing there job.

The questions were being asked by Sean Hodgetts, BBC Wilts, the Adver are just reporting what was said. If you're getting bored of it, fine, don't read it, but it's Di Canio who's shit-stirring, not the BBC and not the Adver. They're just reporting what the manager says, not their fault he keeps banging the same drum

Agreed which is why I rarely bother reading his missives anymore (that and the fact it gives me a migrane trying to understand and follow what he is trying to say).

In fairness, we complain when we get stories like "McEveley hoping for a win against <Saturday's opponent name> or "Navarro doesn't mind playing against former club <Wednesday's opponent's name> too. Not much the Adver can do really, it's not like there's much other sport in the town to concetrate on, our next two most successful sports teams compete in Speedway and Ice Hockey, which are hardly going to send the papers flying off shelves.

Why they have been doing it for years anyway, I suspect this may also be to do with the fact that he seems happier to speak to the BBC rather than then!

I wonder what the scenario would be if Bodin was airing his views in public though.
Bodin had done a decent job in my opinion and a long time before Paolo arrived.
On top of that he was a great player for the club and deserves better treatment than people just guessing that he is stirring.

He dosn't...its called being profesional....something that Paolo is at pains to stress to his players to do more thoroughly.

If Paolo is as good and clever as he says he is, then he doesn't mind his shit being stirred in public. He knows how media works, he's not the victim of the Adver and the BBC.

I thought byrne had carried out the groundwork with the youths and bodin just carried it on when he left?

Byrne did a great job,but lets not forget  that Bodin worked here in troubled times for over 3 years and  didn't even have a contract...as well as caretaker manager for a while and then turning down the No 2 job at Torquay with Ling to stay here.

Now i can understand if Paolo wants rid of Bodin....my issue is that it is done in the right manner with no mud slinging.

Totally agree. The club really need to be careful.  As somebody mentioned, if Bodin took exception to this, they could be on sticky ground.

Quite honestly I'm sick of crap like this being aired in public.

The only thing that irritates me about articles likes this is that the tiresome phrase "airing your dirty linen in public" is coined over and over and over again...  ::)

I think it's good that Paolo wants us to know that he wants to improve this club and that he feels there are areas that are not up to his high standards of professionalism.

But the board won't stand for it much longer, you know.  ;)

1) You can only coin a phrase once. Coining a phrase means to invent it. After that you're repeating it
2) Except in this thread, where it hadn't been used at all, until you introduced it to complain it was being "coined" over and over and over again. Which slightly undermines your point
