Title: Supernatural Post by: kerry red on Monday, November 12, 2012, 15:01:28 Has anyone experienced what could be called a supernatural ocurrence?
Not just ghoulies and ghosties but something which felt outside of being an acceptable coincidence. Remember a few years ago there was some publicity (think it may have been Noel Edmunds) about asking the universe to help you out - just like asking Santa for Xmas presents. Well, I did and fuck me what I asked for I got - sounds crazy but it's God's honest truth Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: 4D on Monday, November 12, 2012, 15:05:06 Chubbs's house is haunted (or badly wired).
Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, November 12, 2012, 15:05:14 I had an out of body experience once. Fell off my skateboard when I was about 14 and knocked myself clean out. As I came to I could hear wailing and screaming from far below me getting closer and closer until I woke and then realised it was me. Very odd.
Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: 4D on Monday, November 12, 2012, 15:07:48 I think you are confusing two stories Jayo ;)
Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: Flashheart on Monday, November 12, 2012, 15:13:49 I'm very much an atheist.
However the 'supernatural' does not necessarily have to be mumbo jumbo. It could just be a quirk of nature/physics that we don't know about yet. I suppose it's human nature to try and explain the unexplainable with "it's magic." Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: Flashheart on Monday, November 12, 2012, 16:04:33 Not a joke at all. We were in a bit of a financial pickle at the time and within a week of my 'cosmic ordering' a solution presented itself All across the world, every single day, billions of people are making billions of prayers to their gods. Statistically speaking even though the vast majority of these prayers go unanswered, it is inevitable that something will hit. 'Answered' prayers are just a statistical anomaly. Nothing more, nothing less. Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: kerry red on Monday, November 12, 2012, 16:05:23 What the universe presented the opportunity of robbing the corner shop? Easy to take the piss - something I would have done myself to be honest - but it did sort me out financially (and nothing illegal!). Maybe it would have done so anyway, I don't know, but for a lifelong sceptic of just about anything and everything, it made me sit up and take notice Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: Ginginho on Monday, November 12, 2012, 16:18:02 All across the world, every single day, billions of people are making billions of prayers to their gods. Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: Bewster on Monday, November 12, 2012, 16:24:17 There's a lot of stuff we don't understand and a lot that we don't know especially when it comes to this sort of thing and the power of the mind.
To dismiss it as mumbo jumbo is accepting that there is categorically no way it could have happened. I like to have an open mind about this sort of thing. I dismissed hypnotherapy and EFT until I tried it worked. Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, November 12, 2012, 16:26:50 is that a dyslexic tef?

To dismiss it as mumbo jumbo is accepting that there is categorically no way it could have happened. I like to have an open mind about this sort of thing. I dismissed hypnotherapy and EFT until I tried it worked. Don't get me wrong, my mind is wide open to the 'mystical' side of stuff. There's loads that we don't know and it's reasonable to expect that we will make some mind blowing discoveries as we learn more about the universe and stuff. That doesn't mean to say though that everything should be taken seriously. Things like prayers, or whatever you want to call them, have already been all but proven to be worthless on account of the sheer volume of the times that they just don't work. I googled the Noel Edmonds thing and the his house in the sun, for which he gives credit to the universe, was actually bought by himself. It's a quirk of the human mind and in this case not a dig at KR either. Humans just like to try to put a reason to things even when there is no reason. Derren Brown did a program in it once. Interesting stuff. Title: Re: Supernatural Post by: Bewster on Monday, November 12, 2012, 17:24:03 Good point well made
