Title: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: The Grim Reaper on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 17:30:37 7th straight league defeat today losing 0-2 at home to Charlton. Looking dire for the slave traders. Shame.

On his way this week! Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: TheMajorSTFC on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 17:51:43 Got lucky staying up last season, wouldn't mind us trading places with them at the end of the season :smugfu:
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: nochee on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 17:56:03 It's a shame we won't get to play them next season 8)
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Frigby Daser on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 17:56:51 McInnes went in there with a very good reputation and talks a lot of sense. It just isn't going his way. I really thought he would have them up towards the play-offs.
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Ardiles on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 17:57:57 Proper derbies (ie in the League) vs Bristol City and Reading would be immense. We've had neither for years. So long as they didn't mess around with kick off times, we could easily take 3,000+ to each of these - and vice versa, I'm sure. Different scale all together to the recent Oxford games - which, despite the hostility, have always felt rather bitter/small time to me in comparison.
(And we might actually win one of them as well.) Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Flashheart on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 18:01:07 Whenever city are mentioned I am reminded of my dislike for Roger Malone.
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: kerry red on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 18:02:20 Dont think kick off times would have much impact on travelling numbers.
Of the 2 I would prefer to ressurect the Reading derby Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: The Grim Reaper on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 18:06:14 My last League visit to Ashton Gate saw us claim all 3 points thanks to a brace from on loan striker Darius Henderson. Cracking away day that was!
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: kerry red on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 18:09:59 Whenever city are mentioned I am reminded of my dislike for Roger Malone. Yeah - Roger Malone and the Western Daily Press reporting on Swindon under sufferance. Complete nob him Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Who on earth was Green - one of our subs. I presume he's a GK but dont remember him one bit Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Seriously, Reading a bigger scale derby than Oxford. Don't think so. edit: Ok, just saw the "to me", fair enough. Personally Reading have always been a very distant third to Oxford and City. Cracking away day that was! Yep,he was a brute that day. Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: janaage on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 19:07:23 McInnes isn't a bad manager at all. From my city acquaintances it seems their defence let's them down week after week.
Shame, would like them to stay up and us to meet them in the championship, especially with oxford and rovers languishing in the 4th tier. Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Leggett on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 19:09:28 enjoyed that game, once the coppers stopped fuck-arsing around from the station and got us to the ground 30mins after kickoff...
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Arriba on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 19:35:08 Although most consider the pox our biggest rivals it used to be alot more fierce against city .bigger crowds, bigger scraps, and better atmospheres.

Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 20:17:22 Just had a look at that Who on earth was Green - one of our subs. I presume he's a GK but dont remember him one bit Richard Green...a centre half we signed from the fake STFC, think he might have been a Macari signing, although could be wrong on that. Don't think he played a game, before he moved on to the Pikeys, where he was something of a stalwart. Shouldn't be confused with this Richard Greene....the wonderful Robin Hood much loved by kids of the 50's. http://www.transdiffusion.org/tv/behindthescreens/images/greene.jpg Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore etc etc Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Ardiles on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 20:27:40 Not sure I can remember a time where all 4 of our main rivals (I'm counting Oxford, Reading and the two Bristol sides) have been doing so badly all at the same time. Rovers and City both in freefall; Oxford falling well short of pre-season expectations; and Reading have basically forgotten how to win.
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: janaage on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 20:31:57 Not sure we're in a position to gloat re:Reading, unless they get to December without a league win maybe.
Title: Re: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Frigby Daser on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 21:28:00 In respective divisions maybe, but taking the partisan hat off, most (including you) would consider Reading as a model club in so many ways.
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Batch on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 21:46:59 Yup. Fair play to Reading/Madjetski.
City on the other hand have been above their station for far too long and need putting in their place. Where is Rich Pullen (whose girlfriend supports City) these days, has he regenerated into someone new again? Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: FormerlyPlymRed on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 22:04:25 Would love to start playing shitty again on a regular basis!
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: TheMajorSTFC on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 23:35:26 Been 3 times to Ashton Gate, seen us win 1-0 (Reeves), draw 1-1 and get relegated and win 1-0 last season in the cup!
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: The Grim Reaper on Monday, November 12, 2012, 09:48:41 I remember going there and battering them 4-0. Think Steve White might have bagged a hatrick?
Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Flashheart on Monday, November 12, 2012, 09:51:18 We beat them well last season as well

Don't think he played a game, before he moved on to the Pikeys, where he was something of a stalwart. Richard Green was a 6 foot 2+, fat, shaved head, centre back who was shit, we signed him (very highly rated at the time) fom Shrewsbury for a nominal fee of about £30k by Hoddle I think, it was Ardiles or Hoddle and I think he was on the bench for a couple of games but not sure if he ever wore the red shirt in anger.Shouldn't be confused with this Richard Greene....the wonderful Robin Hood much loved by kids of the 50's. http://www.transdiffusion.org/tv/behindthescreens/images/greene.jpg Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore etc etc I watched him in a handfull of reserve games at the time and he was slow imobile and couldnt pass a ball but was good in the air. I am pretty sure he only made the bench 2 or 3 times at most and no game time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Green_%28footballer%29 He now works as a driving instructor in Walsall. An interesting story about him on the Shrews forum about him being a flasher :o http://blueandamber.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=74067 Title: Re: Re: Re: Bristol City go bottom... No fucking chance. Great day. We were in the Grandstand, in a block (or two) of Town fans. If I remember it was for Season Ticket holders only. Had City fans standing in front of us & gave them Dogs abuse as the goals were flying in. Suffice it to say the Natives were a bit restless by the end Title: Re: Bristol City go bottom... Post by: Notts red on Monday, November 12, 2012, 23:09:29 City have made a statement tonight, Major shareholder Lansdown said " McInnes is under no pressure at all from the board" "the pressure comes from the fans which is understandable " And also " there's a million people out there who think they can do a better job" I didn't realise their fan base was so big ! I say keep him there as he's doing just fine :D
