McInnes went in there with a very good reputation and talks a lot of sense. It just isn't going his way. I really thought he would have them up towards the play-offs.

Proper derbies (ie in the League) vs Bristol City and Reading would be immense.  We've had neither for years.  So long as they didn't mess around with kick off times, we could easily take 3,000+ to each of these - and vice versa, I'm sure.  Different scale all together to the recent Oxford games - which, despite the hostility, have always felt rather bitter/small time to me in comparison.

(And we might actually win one of them as well.)

Whenever city are mentioned I am reminded of my dislike for Roger Malone.

Dont think kick off times would have much impact on travelling numbers.

Of the 2 I would prefer to ressurect the Reading derby

McInnes isn't a bad manager at all. From my city acquaintances it seems their defence let's them down week after week.

Shame, would like them to stay up and us to meet them in the championship, especially with oxford and rovers languishing in the 4th tier.

enjoyed that game, once the coppers stopped fuck-arsing around from the station and got us to the ground 30mins after kickoff...

Although most consider the pox our biggest rivals it used to be alot more fierce against city .bigger crowds, bigger scraps, and better atmospheres.

None more than the day we drew to keep them out of the play-offs.

Richard Green...a centre half we signed from the fake STFC, think he might have been a Macari signing, although could be wrong on that.  Don't think he played a game, before he moved on to the Pikeys, where he was something of a stalwart.

Shouldn't be confused with this Richard Greene....the wonderful Robin Hood much loved by kids of the 50's.

Not sure I can remember a time where all 4 of our main rivals (I'm counting Oxford, Reading and the two Bristol sides) have been doing so badly all at the same time.  Rovers and City both in freefall; Oxford falling well short of pre-season expectations; and Reading have basically forgotten how to win.

Not sure we're in a position to gloat re:Reading, unless they get to December without a league win maybe.

In respective divisions maybe, but taking the partisan hat off, most (including you) would consider Reading as a model club in so many ways.

Richard Green was a 6 foot 2+, fat, shaved head, centre back who was shit, we signed him (very highly rated at the time) fom Shrewsbury for a nominal fee of about £30k by Hoddle I think, it was Ardiles or Hoddle and I think he was on the bench for a couple of games but not sure if he ever wore the red shirt in anger.

I watched him in a handfull of reserve games at the time and he was slow imobile and couldnt pass a ball but was good in the air. I am pretty sure he only made the bench 2 or 3 times at most and no game time.

In which case it was Ossie that signed him then because he only spent about 3 or 4 months at Swindon before being moved on after an injury I believe to Jills.

City have made a statement tonight, Major shareholder Lansdown said " McInnes is under no pressure at all from the board" "the pressure comes from the fans which is understandable " And also " there's a million people out there who think they can do a better job" I didn't realise their fan base was so big ! I say keep him there as he's doing just fine  :D
