PAOLO Di Canio wants to get rid of a culture of self-diagnosis which he feels is spreading within the Swindon Town squad. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/10022333.Di_Canio_wants_Town_s_players_to_stop_self_diagnosing/?ref=rss Title: Re: Adver News: Di Canio wants Town's players to stop self-diagnosing Post by: sonicyouth on Friday, November 2, 2012, 10:21:08 EMBARGO

Can he put his finger on where the problem comes from?

Title: Re: Adver News: Di Canio wants Town's players to stop self-diagnosing Post by: Ardiles on Friday, November 2, 2012, 11:53:01 Must admit, I'm surprised that it is not standard practice for all injuries/niggles to be checked out immediately and then signed off by the Club Doctor. (Or have I got the wrong end of what PDC was saying?)

Maybe it's not the lumbago/embargo bit that got lost in translation but a mistranslation of diagnosis/abuse after he wandered in on a dressing room game of the Australian biscuit game.Title: Re: Adver News: Di Canio wants Town's players to stop self-diagnosing Post by: wiggy on Friday, November 2, 2012, 13:03:06 I was only saying to a mate yesterday that PdC had been fairly sensible in the media for a week or so, and that perhaps the chairman and owner had had a bit of a word with him.
Then this. He is doing a really good job, but sounds like an utter tit. No manager in the world is able to always bring in new players to cover every injury or niggle. There will be times that a player in a particular position will not have competition for his place, and although he is absolutely right to fear complacency may set in, he has to find a way of managing it within budget.
