Title: Aston Villa
Post by: Flashheart on Saturday, October 27, 2012, 16:06:35
A Prem team playing poorly and low on confidence

Away to a high flying L1 team on a high (albeit 1 match) with previous of beating other Prem teams.

I bet the Villa players are not looking forward to Tuesday.

Exactly, if Villa turn up thinking its going to be an easy night, based on that performance, we can beat them over 90 minutes

They won;t be thinking it's easy. They;ll be shitting themselves.

Their supporters certainly are.  A good friend of mine supports Villa and reckons they've currently got one of the worst teams he's ever seen and could well get relegated this season.  Swindon away was his dream tie, as he lives here,  but now he's dreading it ha!

Watched Villa at lunchtime - Norwich could have a hatful even before Villa went down to 10 men

What could be interesting is that the Villa players tackle very poorly and somewhat recklessly at times.

They will obviously have more quality than us, but will they have the big cojones

And the KOT starts the Villa match day thread.

it is starting to warm up nicely now for Tuesday, I think we are likely to be the main commentary match on radio 5 now, as the media must be starting to sniff an upset, also if we win is Lambert at risk of losing his job already..

I still can't believe no foreign broadcasters have picked it up

Geezer (John Murray?) commentating on 5 live said we are the commentary match on tuesday and he was looking forward to his trip to in form Swindon.

Nothing yet

But maybe some obscure channel in jibbywhatstan will choose to broadcast it.

Did you happen to notice the presence of Colin Calderwood and Paul Trollope, as part of the Norwich management team?

Watching MOTD highlights, Villa like to throw themselves into tackles don't they, they were lucky to finish with ten on the pitch. Tuesday night is going to be full blooded that's for sure, just as a cup game should be.

Not sure but Villa do have three players on 4 yellow cards going into our game including Delph and Ahmadi, both big players for them so won't mind if they have a quiet game.

Yesterday's result was just what the doctor ordered. It gives us the boost back that we needed going into this one. Reckon we can take them but only if we play like we did yesterday or against Stoke.

I can see their blokes on 4 yellows being rested- why risk losing them for the league in a cup game against a League one side? I can see a whole lot of switches going on frankly. If I was Lambert I wouldn't bother too much about the cup at the moment.

Then again I'm not Lambert, so fuck knows.

According to the odds on Betfair we have more likely to beat Villa than Reading are to beat Arsenal and Norwich are to beat Spurs

Seems a strange set of odds to me.

Hope it dont go to pens - when was the last time we actually scored one?

Well we did beat AFC last season on pens in the JPT, and didn't miss one, and didn't look like missing as they mostly ended up in the top corner.

Had a lot going on the last couple of weeks and have managed to miss out on a ticket for this...if any one knows of someone who can't make it to the game or has had people drop out on them, please give me a private message and I'll happily take an unused ticket off them in exchange of monies going the other way. Cheers
