PAOLO Di Canio has said he will “consider his position” as manager of Swindon Town if he is told the club’s board will not do anything to ensure the Robins’ transfer embargo currently is lifted. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/9984408.PDC_ponders_Town_future/?ref=rss Title: Re: Adver News: PDC ponders Town future Post by: Flashheart on Monday, October 15, 2012, 06:06:29 If you're going to go, go now so we can get looking for a new manager.
Title: Re: Adver News: PDC ponders Town future Post by: hobnob on Monday, October 15, 2012, 06:52:33 Ridiculous overreaction again, he has been backed to the hilt and needs to realise we are Swindon with 8000 average gates not Man Utd with 80000!
Get a grip and manage, we still have a big squad for this league, try using it! Title: Re: Adver News: PDC ponders Town future Post by: BruceChatwin on Monday, October 15, 2012, 10:06:57 This is just reposted from his post-match interview, which seemed completely baffling at the time but which has now been put in clearer context. He obviously knew Wray was being 'removed' in that interview and like the rest of us didn't know anything about this new guy and what direction the clubs board are now intending to take us in by making this change. Sometimes he does come across as an arrogant and unappreciative so and so, but he did say jeremy wray is the number 1 reason for this clubs success ahead of paolo di canio, and if he's being kept in the dark over this the last couple of weeks i can understand some of his hysterics after the last couple of games. Wray was his biggest ally at the club and now they've chosen to get rid of him even though he was unanimously popular with the fans, the manager and backroom staff, the press, the sponsors and the players. What sort of statement does that make to PDC? Need a good, long and clear clarification this afternoon from the club.

That is not a reflection on the job he's done/doing, but merely as a bloke. That is all. That is all. Wray pacified the situation with him many a time. Maybe he was too soft on the bloke which i think is why he's been shifted on. I'm guessing the new man won't stand for hissy fits and transfer demands. Have to say I liked the working relationship between PDC and J-Wray but I think now PDC will learn what it is like to work with a Chairman who is prepared to say 'no'. If PDC does go as a result of this then the majority of us will be disappointed but given a choice between PDC and major investment for the long term future then I'll take the latter, albeit it with a tinge of sadness to losing 2 people that have given us our first taste of success and stability for a number of years. I wonder, with new investment, if 'arry would be interested in sifting some off?! Title: Re: Adver News: PDC ponders Town future Post by: Bathtime on Monday, October 15, 2012, 11:15:15 What a mess and what a shame....DiCanio in many ways has been a breath of fresh air to football and certainly for Swindon. I dont think he can cope with the demands of being a manager at this level. His behaviour has been getting more and more out of it since before the season started. And now his mate is going I suspect it wont be long until he too goes.....god knows who might take him on though...??/ Never a dull moment
Title: Re: Adver News: PDC ponders Town future Post by: Exiled Bob on Monday, October 15, 2012, 11:17:58 I think Paolo still has a lot to learn about managing a football club. At no other club, except the big guns of the Premier League (and not many of them either), will he get the support that he's had so far at Swindon. He's in for a big shock when he eventually jumps ship and goes off to West Ham, Sheffield Wednesday or one of the other clubs he's played for.....
