Has anyone got any odd STFC memorabilia...?

I picked these beauties up about 4 years ago when I was in the Czech Republic with the missus;

Can you guess who the players are supposed to be? Muchos respect for anyone who can get all 5!!!

Did you post these before under a different user name? Or on another forum. They've come up before, maybe more that 4 years ago...

Thinking about it I'm sure one was Ruddock but I can't see him above so must have been an older set.

Is the small one Ince.

Ive not posted these before.. I guess that there are probably other similar sets out there.

- Only 1 right answer so far from 'Notts Red' - nice one (although I'm not saying which one)  :headhurts:

- They are all contemporary players from the 'Four Four Two' era. They were purchased in March 2009 - I seem to remember that all the players were in the squad at that time (give or take a few weeks).

From a poor memory the other set was from some shop near a station in Prague? Presumably the same place? Always amazed me that some shop in the Czech republic had these which is why it stuck in the mind.

Austin is number 4 ( 2nd smallest ) ?
Iffil number 3 ?

I was shocked too - my girlfriend was looking at the West Ham team version and I made a comment about how if they had West Ham they must have town... they've probably just sold out. The shop owner heard me and rushed to the back of the shop and came out with these. I had to buy them.

You could certainly say they were full of themselves.

I hate those Russian dolls. So full of themselves.

A point of interest is that the style of the dolls is of Japanese origin.

The 2nd from the left looks likes he's getting on a bit, perhaps the maker had Movember in mind.
I know money was tight around then but two of them don't even have shirt sponsors :)

Just been in Prague with t'other half last week and we saw them too!  Can't remember exactly but it was pretty much the worst lot of players you'd want to have on memorabilia like that... Prutton, Amankwaah and Cuthbert were the ones I can remember.  Actually we were laughing at them in the shop and the guy rushed over with an even older one (can't remember any of those though!).

We were going to get one but then saw the price... £20 quid is a bit steep for an out-of-date homage to such crappy players!

To put  you out of your misery...

I think that Coca got 1/5 and Notts in total got 4/5 - good work.
 
Definitely an odd set of players at the time - apart from Cox (it was before Billy was prolific I think). 


Funnily enough when I was taking this photo I couldn't get Ifil to stand up properly!

I remember a mate of mine (a Ox***d supporter) ringing me speciafically from Thailand as he had been offered shirts my a hawker on a beach which included the usual Man U, Madrid, Barca etc but in all that a copy of a town shirt in green!

I was so close to getting one - in fact, if they'd had an up-to-date one I might have done it... The older one was actually more tempting, as it had Parkin and Migz in it and the guy in the shop was offering it to me for £15.  But on this occasion common sense prevailed (for once) and we spent the cash on beer instead!   :toocool:
