Title: Bury away Post by: Dirty Harry on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, 22:25:30 Their game got postponed tonight so not looking good for Saturday as forecast to rain all week which is gutting as I was looking forward to this one.
Title: Re: Bury away Post by: TheMajorSTFC on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, 22:45:56 May not be a bad thing given they also have a new manager in Kevin Blackwell, and like tonight, will mostly likely be extra spurred on....I'd also say it's a bad thing as I'd like to see how we respond to tonight's defeat by having a stormer on Saturday!!!
Title: Re: Bury away Post by: Dirty Harry on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 02:29:20 You could be right but i was looking forward to my Saturday football as i won't be making the trip up there on a Tuesday night.
Title: Re: Bury away Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 09:25:29 I only live about an hour from Bury but can't make it on Saturday. On a purely selfish note, I wouldn't mind it being postponed!
Title: Re: Bury away Post by: Hitchinred on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 10:15:14 I wouldn't mind it being called off. Supposed to be at an evening wedding do that would mean leaving Manchester Piccadilly at 1735 which might mean leaving Gigg Lane early, which I hate doing!

On a Saturday afternoon getting from Gigg Lane to Piccadilly is a solid 40 minute drive at minimum, you are cutting that one fine even with a good taxi driver!Title: Re: Bury away Post by: Langers on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 10:36:06 I'm not sure it would be a bad thing, they have a new manager and we saw last night what that can do for a team. Also, we have played a lot of games lately, so we could probably do with the rest.

I'd been given to believe that they were no better than average and that the main issue was us being gash? Title: Re: Bury away Post by: Shaw Rosso on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 21:13:56 Cant see any reason why it won't be on, forecast looks ok

They weren't a footballing team, organised and closed down midfield space. We didn't try to play football against them. So I guess the answer is yes. If not (like Hitchin Red) I might be getting a taxi back to Manchester Piccadilly to get 17.43 train. According to AA Route Planner only 19 mins from Gigg Lane to Piccadilly so would hope to do it in under 40 minutes even in Saturday evening traffic. Title: Re: Bury away Post by: FormerlyPlymRed on Thursday, October 4, 2012, 12:15:37 Argh mate in Manchester wants me to go up and incorporate watching this and celebrating his birthday with him :/
Worth an at least 9 hour train journey? Hmmmm. Title: Re: Bury away Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Thursday, October 4, 2012, 14:37:55 The other option for getting to Piccadilly after the match is to get a tram from Bury Interchange. Mind you it's 15 years since I lived in Bury and I've forgotten how long that takes!!

Says takes 30mins here but think the tram stop in Bury is about 15 mins walk from the ground so it will be tight for sure. Argh mate in Manchester wants me to go up and incorporate watching this and celebrating his birthday with him :/ Worth an at least 9 hour train journey? Hmmmm. Get it done. Even if the football ain't great Manchester is a cracking night out. You're only young once. Title: Re: Bury away Post by: Hitchinred on Thursday, October 4, 2012, 16:14:45 Think I'm better aiming for 1755 train at Piccadilly from the previous posts. Don't think her indoors will be too impressed but that's life!

Title: Re: Bury away Post by: tj2002 on Friday, October 5, 2012, 14:06:06 From Memory there a pub on the main road downhill from the ground where I once spent about 10 minutes trying to reverse into a parking space whilst a crowd of town fans watched on and mocked me with choruses of clown music.
Can't for the life of me remember the name of it or find it on google though Title: Re: Bury away Post by: Sheffield Red on Friday, October 5, 2012, 15:03:07 I have booked a taxi from outside the ground at the end of the game back to Piccadilly so if Hitchin Red or anybody else wants to share the cost drop me a PM with your mobile number and will text tomorrow.
Was quoted about £20 and half hour journey. Title: Re: Bury away Post by: Hitchinred on Friday, October 5, 2012, 18:36:57 Cheers Sheffield. PM sent.
