 Happy coincidence that the Adver should produce a typically pointless piece, about Kammy, when they could have used the Shrewsbury game to do a retrospective on his infamous right hook on Jim Melrose. Best punch I've ever seen thrown on a football pitch...although Darren Bullock at Sheff. U came close.

PdC might be a loon, but he never had the book thrown at him like Kammy did for that...

Melrose deserved it that day Reg for what he said to Kammy, the scottish tosser.

I always assumed it was something racist....but to the best of my knowledge Melrose was never called to account. Given the fact that high profile racist players are still with us, it could have made for an interesting piece of journalism...

And i think Kammy felt Lou and the club could have backed him a bit more at the time.

Kammy's ex missus still lives in Swindon & quite often you can find him shopping in tesco's with her. I have even had my picture taken in there with him.

And he was correct in that....however hindsight tells us that the club, probably didn't want boys in blue and legal people turning up on the CG doorstep sniffing around  :)

Do his parents as well? I suppose it could just be his ex, but I was sure there was some more immediate family as well. Whoever it is, they live near Covingham, as my sister and her husband have seen him at Covingham shops on a number of occasions. (They didn't even know he'd played for Swindon and knew him only from Sky. :( )

I've lived in Covingham for over 20 years and have never met him. This trivially annoys me.

The last time i seen him in tesco i was talking to him & a little boy asked for his autograph & what he was doing in Swindon, he told the boy he was visiting family here, the boys dad who was wearing a town top said how come you never played for Swindon if you have family here. I just started laughing as Kammy tried explaining that he had on several occasions & played just over 200 times for town. The boys dad was mid forties & adamant that he hadn't.

He'd get sent off every other game nowadays - with his trademark sliding tackles.

Those series of games where we always seemed to be playing Pompey in the 70s (?) used to be fiercely contested.

Kammy is a bloody nice bloke and has all the time in the world for fans.

He used to live down by Drove School and owned the off licence in York Road I think it was back in the late 70's early 80's.

He is still one of my all time favourite Swindon players of all time.

And Barry I am pretty sure his mum and dad lived up in the cold North close to where Kammy was born in Middlesbrough or somewhere like that.

I still remember one of his brilliant sliding tackles when we were in the old 3rd division on a wet afternoon when he slid about 20 yards and still won the ball and then in the same move got up to his feet with the ball and pssed a great pass that set up a goal. He probably wouldnt have got away with it these days due to the fact that he started his slide from so far away even though his timing was impeccable.

My Uncle used to drive the team bus in the 70's, and he was telling me stories about this last weekend.

Whilst doing that he told me Kammy was a perfect gentleman, he got on really well with him....

His autobiography is a decent read. Some good tales from his town days.

Kammy lives in Wakefield these days doesn't he? Not sure where his family are though.

Kammy will always be a legend and one of my favourite all time players.

Glad you've added the word 'ageing' to your CV. You did however forget to precede it with 'dirty, greasy....' ;)

Love the Kammy though - a true legend. 8)

Loved how on Sky Sports News during the Swindon - Leeds game he was referring to Swindon as we despite playing for both clubs  :)
