Bloke on the left stood up is wearing an England away shirt worn at Italia 90 by our boys I believe.

Only know this as I bought a reproduced retro one this year.

Also based on the facts that...
There are leaves on the tree's and they are green (Rules out October - March)
The condition of the pitch is very good (Rules out every game from October onwards!)
The sun is relatively low for 6:09pm (Rules out October to March)
The advertising hoardings are circa 1990
The England top is circa 1990

It was certainly before The Arkells seats were out in at the front, which happened in 92

I love that clock, I've wished it slower and faster depending on the game.

Think the 1990 date is about right, although it could have been any day really as the old social club used to be open in those days.The doors used to open out onto the area shown and people were able to go out there all the time.

Other than the GWR hoarding the other one is Morrison & Masters solicitors. Clearly early '90's as everyone has a valid point that does point to that era.

It might not be them, it just looks like them.  Hard to judge what they would have looked like because of the age of the photo.  If it's not them it looks like them.

The chap in the England shirt is Steve(big bird)Foster. That  is my goodself stood next to him and CDH giving the V sign.
Also looks like Steve the gas and Jonny Ash sat at the table.

Yes Summer 1990 outside of the old Supporters Club bar. Picnic benches were removed after the Taylor report was published as this ruled that no alcohol was to be consumed in view of spectators.
Ron Manners was the Steward, cockney guy who ran the place really well, bar full of people most evenings.
Not a happy time for Town fans this was the Summer of the Football League double relegation decision. Still have vivid memories of the night when we heard the news.   

I was stood with Steve Fossie at the Orient game, one of my oldest mates. He is taller in real life than he appears in that pic and I didn't recognise him with hair!

That pic would have been taken no more than a couple of weeks after I first set foot in the ground.  Apart from the obvious (Shrivenham Road, lower seats in the Arkells), the feel of the place has changed surprisingly little.  Whatever the ground redevelopment plans are when they eventually see the light of day - the clock on the Bank has to stay!

Funny that people think they can date a picture to within a year or two based on the style of a pair of jeans etc.  If you were to show me a similar picture in 20 years or so, and ask me whether it was from 2010 or 2012 - I doubt I'd have a clue.

The yellow stancheons on the Shrivenham Road stand mean that it is 1990. Peter Day was appointed Club Secretary after all the fallout from the FA and Football League punishments. He was a friend of Ossie Ardilles from their days at Tottenham and seemed to want everything in the ground painting yellow, seemed to forget our colour was red.

Was Ron Manners the dumpy bloke with a gringo tauche ?(spolling) . . also is Mick Lewis still alive?
The "squash club"was good for a pre/after match drink aswell,Mick Connelly used to run it in the early 80s.
