I'm sure he has done a lot of research to come up with that opinion

I don't know what's more moronic, the fact that he said that on Twitter or the fact you'd thought we'd give a shit.

...or the fact he couldn't spell government or the fact the victims couldn't be found because they were abducted by aliens from the roof top of the Twin Tower's #moronic

Although to be fair to Miles there is an alarming amount of evidence to back up the conspiracies.

there's also lots of evidence to back up Santa Claus (what with the presents and all)...

Brilliant, I love conspiracy threads.

Go on then..... what evidence.

FFS! Now look what you have done - this thread will never end...  Did you not know that 9/11 was all predicted in folded US dollars?  This is verified by the fact that if you fold a piece of toilet paper in a certain way it looks just like the pile of rubble that was left after both towers collapsed.

He's signed out now anyway.

And there was me hoping for enlightenment.

Did he sign out, or have the CIA and Homeland Security blocked his internet connection, to stop him from revealing the truth?

Looking forward to his reponse

Pretty much every conspiracy theory about 9/11 has been blown out of the water by conclusive proof.

Nah

It's just that all the physicists, chemists, architects, police, FBI, CIA, electricians, construction workers, security companies, airport workers, Air Force personnel, insurance companies, journalists, newsreaders and firemen were in on it.

And the Jews, you can't forget them. Not one single Jewish person was killed that day. They had to be involved!!!

Amazing that the 100's if not 1000's who would have knew about this have all kept quiet, no one felt any guilt and came forward with conclusive proof.

The US Government must have organised a mass hypnotism to erase the memory of everyone involved.

I think the conspiracy theory nuts are a few slices short of a picnic too, however things do get covered up as the Hillsborough news of the last day has shown.

Alightly different scale I think we can agree on that

If you type "IT WAS ALL A MASSIVE CONSPIRACY" into Word, change the font to Wingdings, then Times New Roman, then Comic Sans it actually says "IT WAS ALL A MASSIVE CONSPIRACY".

I knew it!

At the risk of widespread abuse, the only thing I did hear which I haven't seen explained is that it has been suggested that the twin towers should never have collapsed after the initial impact as even despite the fire and soaring temperatures, there were reinforcements in place which should have kept the building standing....

Anyone seen that one blown out the water?

(I'd like to add I'm a sheep, and never believe conspiracy theories on anything.  I like mainstream, and I'm sticking to it!)

Reinforcements?

The steel did weaken and eventually gave way causing the collapse. That the steel should not have given way under such temperatures is probably made up, completely unfounded nonsense.

It collapsed due to a combination of the damage caused by the impact and the excessive heat (with no sprinkler system working) weakening the remaining structure. No architect of the time could have foreseen a combination of the two...

You mean to say they didn't factor in what would happen if there was a couple of thousand gallons of burning jet fuel? Shoddy.

The architect's did know about it as they were in on the conspiracy.  :D

Some very interesting (if you like engineering) reading on why the towers collapsed here:
http://www.tms.org/pubs/journals/jom/0112/eagar/eagar-0112.html (http://www.tms.org/pubs/journals/jom/0112/eagar/eagar-0112.html)

Essentially, the temperature of the fire in the towers was nowhere near hot enough to melt the steel.

Most engineers agree that the first thing to give way were the joists on the most heavily burning floors, this caused the outer box columns to bow slightly and caused all floors above the fire to drop.

The upper floors dropped onto the floors below them, the joists of these lower floors were held onto the core structure by metal angle clips, which weren't strong enough to support the weight of the floors above them. This caused a domino effect where each floor couldn't alone support the weight of those above it, and collapsed onto the one below.

This caused a domino effect where each floor couldn't alone support the weight of those above it, and collapsed onto the one below.

It also explains why the second tower to get hit collapsed first as there was more weight above the weakened structure due to the lower position of impact to the tower....
