PAOLO Di Canio will use the lessons passed down to him by Gianluca Vialli to help Andy Williams get through his current goal drought. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/9915822.Vialli_advice_can_end_goal_drought/?ref=rss Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: Weasel on Friday, September 7, 2012, 06:07:48 They really should sense-check some of his quotes before printing them.
Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: kerry red on Friday, September 7, 2012, 06:34:37 He's really bigging Williams up.
Anyone shine any light on the 'he can score with grapes' quote. Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: london_red on Friday, September 7, 2012, 06:53:48 He's really bigging Williams up. Anyone shine any light on the 'he can score with grapes' quote. Yeah following on from what some people were saying yesterday I think it shows maybe he does have a 'horses for courses' type of man management. But of course PDC using a press interview to publicly praise a player and try to build up his confidence will draw far less reaction - from national media and on here/thisis - than him criticising another one for a mistake. Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: kerry red on Friday, September 7, 2012, 08:12:28 Slightly uncomfortable, though, with his need to describe the Orient central defenders as black and tough.
Is there really any need in mentioning their colour Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: tj2002 on Friday, September 7, 2012, 08:14:34 I assume the grapes comment means he'll score a bunch.
They have 3 black players with pace is an odd turn of phrase for a manager in 2012 to use though, think we need to employ a decent PR guy to start managing these interviews Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: Benzel on Friday, September 7, 2012, 08:26:31 I anticipate a mountain is going to be made today.
Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: DRS on Friday, September 7, 2012, 08:27:44 Are they not black then
Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: kerry red on Friday, September 7, 2012, 08:31:18 Of course they are. But would he bother saying they have 3 tough, white defenders?

Fucking hell It's almost tempting to stay in tonight to read the TEF. Well, not that tempting really. Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: tj2002 on Friday, September 7, 2012, 09:17:11 I don't care about his turn of phrase, but his critics will. That's all I'm saying.
Whether it's fact or not that they are black it's a stupid thing for a known fascist (read racist by some) to say. Doubt he cares anyway, "I am Paolo, I'll say what I want" Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: RobertT on Friday, September 7, 2012, 09:51:24 What's the opposite of racism, which is clearly the use of race to provide a negative connotation? Because the use of colour is clearly used to describe a positive attritbute which is supported by evidence, such as the 100m Olympic Final make-up, unless of course the 100m final is racist against us whities and there are in fact just as many white athletes who could have qualified but were not allowed to enter?

Doubt he cares anyway, "I am Paolo, I'll say what I want" Exactly, critics will make even more of it because it's Leyton Orient and that's the team that gave us a certain black player on loan last season that filed a racism claim against Paolo. Wow,you have actually thought that through aswell.I despair i really do. In my opinion he has acted like a fuckin twat latelely and got a bit wrong but when your own fans start twisting a good news story to start bashing him i think you know its bad.Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: kerry red on Friday, September 7, 2012, 10:29:24 Whatever did happen with that Tehoue 'thing'?

Not sure what you're getting at here, I didnt say me did I? I couldn't give a flying fuck about Tehoue, by critics I meant the media and such like. Paolo just seems quite capable of arming people to have a pop at him, that's what I meant. Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: walcot red on Friday, September 7, 2012, 10:34:14 Not meaning to sound like a pillock here but what is the best way to describe a person if you can't refer to them by colour without being racist? for example Do you say his name is robert he has blonde hair and non-white.
Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: kerry red on Friday, September 7, 2012, 10:37:00 Unfortunately in these PC obsessed times some people will jump on any casual remark ready to point the finger.
Look at the difference calling a black person a bastard and calling them a black bastard Now to my mind the word bastard is fairly mild, but put black in front of it and it turns into a serious racist remark Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: DRS on Friday, September 7, 2012, 10:46:44 Not sure what you're getting at here, I didnt say me did I? I am saying you created a scenario that no one but you has thought of.I agree about the media etc but this has not been reported anywhere in a different light and shouldn't be,but you can rest assured that people(our own fans) will make this into something it isn't and that is when outsiders will jump in. PDC brings a hell of alot of unwanted attention and i have said some of the stick he is getting in deserved but our own fans are giving the media a massive helping hand lately Title: Re: Adver News: Vialli advice can end goal drought Post by: sonicyouth on Friday, September 7, 2012, 10:57:52 i don't even know what is going on in this thread anymore

I can see that it might've come across as a bit of stirring, let's move on............. I'm sure the goals will come once the hemorrhoids clear up and with the extra training from Andy King. That's if he can get past an all black defence.
