So off to London on friday, coming back saturday.

Is an Oyster card still the cheapest way of getting about? Is it still capped once you reach the daily travel card rate?

Also with the buses, do you just 'beep on'. Or do you tell the driver your destination and then 'beep on'. Apparently you don't beep off either? How do they work out how much the fair is.

Off to London Feast on the friday which should be ace. It's in Dalston with beer available from camden brewery.

I have an oyster card but i use the tube when i go down. I'd imagine you would have to beep on and off when getting on and off the bus. It'll calculate it depending on where you are and how far you have travelled i suppose.

You just beep on, the bus. But travelling by tube you need to beep off otherwise you get charged the full amount for the route.

It is the cheapest way if you already have an Oyster, if you don't then it'll cost you £5. You don't need to tell the driver where you're going, just touch it on the reader when you get on....don't touch when you get off though. Buses are a flat fare so that's how it'll charge you. Make sure you do touch at both ends on the tube or train though else you'll get charged the maximum price :)

If you're going to the o2 at all allow for extra time to get through the airport style secruity checks, and you won't be able to take bottled liquid in either.

Single beep when you get on a bus. No need to beep out, it's the same price no matter where you're going.

Beep in and out when taking the tube - you should be going through barriers so it's obvious.

If you're using PAYG on the DLR (which you might be to get to 02), make sure you beep in and out. There aren't any barriers at most stations, so you might have to look around a little for the oyster readers.

If in doubt ask a member of staff, they're normally pretty obliging.

I knew about the tube, it was just the buses that confused me.

I'm not sure, i've got tickets for the stadium so i'd imagine you have to have tickets to get in anywhere to do with the olympic village, stadiums etc.
