Title: Cibo's gone! Post by: Honkytonk on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 13:58:15 This story has now appeared both on the club's official FB and Twitter.
We have one left back now, and I don't think he's that great. Perhaps Di Canio was saving a bit of cash for this reason? Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 13:58:59 I never got to dance with Cibocci! >:(

Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:01:33 He'll use Thompson as cover for both full-back positions, i'd imagine

Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Uncletrunx on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:13:20 Returning home for 'family reasons' So this one really is mutual consent rather than "you're going, so here's a wad of cash to see you off"? Not saying he didn't get a payoff, more that he was actually happy about it. Given the current situation, I wonder if this means cover at fullback is coming in to cover both sides? Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:17:37 How odd to have a controvosy free departure ... Someone make somthing up please ...
Good luck Cibo. Did ok for us at times and at the time was stupidly comical, but always gave his all and when asked never let himself, the club or the fans down. Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:21:56 “The fans used to sing ‘dance with Cibocchi’ but I cannot do that anymore! I have enjoyed my time with Swindon Town and wish them success this season.”
Legend! Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Honkytonk on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:25:49 I kind of wish we'd kept Kennedy, although that may be rose tinted spectacles a bit. Part of our success last season, particularly early on, was the number of brilliant crosses our full-backs whipped into the box on a regular basis. I remember when we played Huddersfield the commentators mentioned it and it really told. Cibo and Kennedy were both great at that, Jay Mac is not.
Cibo's finest moment in my mind was the game against Leicester, even though we lost. Nice bloke who had time for fans in a way some players don't, best of luck to him. Wild conjecture as to who could be coming in anyone? I do think someone who can cover both left and right back is likely, especially with other goings on at the club. Didn't one of our centrebacks play at leftback last season to let Nathan Thompson play? Or am I making things up? Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:28:53 We should resign Antione Van Der Linden. He could do a job up front too as he is technically excellent because he is dutch!
Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Processed Beats on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:31:42 Gary Rose just tweeted Sam Morshead that Ridehalgh is available. Would be more than happy to take him back!

Post by: mrverve on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:37:53 Out of all the departures so far, this is the one I'm genuinely gutted about. Technically not the best player but I had a lot of time for him, League 2 or equivalent was probably his level but at the same time would've loved him to stay! Decent delivery on him. Oh Cibo, farewell...
Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Coca Fola on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:41:02 I liked Cibo, shame to see him go. He wasnćt the best footballer in the world but he always gave 100% and seemed like a nice guy to boot. I wish him well for the future.
Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Bewster on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:42:43 Isn't it strange that someone who has only played a handful of games can be so highly thought of by the fans.
Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Coca Fola on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 14:44:21 Itćs because he genuinely seems to love playing for the club.
(You may have noticed by now that I donćt have an apostrophe key on this shitty keyboard.) Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Even when he has moved onto the BBC he is still helping out those less fortunate with there stories! Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Shaw Rosso on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 15:30:50 Will never forget his throw in's at Rovers last season, truly shocking.
Always gave his best though, good luck Cibo  Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: TheDukeOfBanbury on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 15:41:52 I liked Cibo, shame to see him go. Agree......I think his popularity was because of his relationship with the fans young & old. He came across very sincere and "the fans" were always mentioned in his communication. Premiership Footballers sadly are miles away from this now. Biased or not the Swindon players in my opinion are very approachable. Thanks Cibo................ Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Title: Re: Cibo's gone! Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 21:03:05 Quite an achievement to become a cult player - which he obviously is - after just 12 months at the club and only 18 (?) appearances. Good luck to him.
