Title: To Hang Or Not To Hang?
Post by: herthab on Saturday, August 11, 2012, 07:48:08
After recent comments on another thread, I got to thinking...

At the moment I live in an upstairs flat, with no one overlooking me. At the moment I have curtains up in the lounge, but have  noticed that they don't really match the room's decor. With this in mind, should I remove them and leave the windows bare, or should I purchase drapes more suitable?

I await your responses.

Just use some newspaper or old cardboard boxes.

None of our windows have curtains and haven't for the last 10 years.. our bedroom has a roller blind which is more to keep the light out than privacy... Leave them bare...

I would recommend beef curtains - if you can get hold of them

Is it genetically possible for a man to have an opinion on curtains, cushions and soft furnishings in general? I don't think so.

I've tried and nope, I just can't do it. A complete blank.

What kind of 'man' notices the curtains don't match the rooms decor? Herthab must definitely be gay.

If you want something in the window, just get some wooden blinds.

But surely you can pretend, anything for a quiet life..?

I don't get the third option. Who hangs curtains on a fence?

Oh yes, feigning opinion is a necessity when talking to the other half, but I'm not married to Hethab.

Couldn't find the clip on opinions on fabric samples, so he's the defacto man opinion on cushions:

Just spent a week in a cottage with fantastic sea views and it was a privilege to wake up in the morning with the curtains open. It seems wrong that people even think about pulling curtains when they have views like that. We have a roller blind at home in the bedroom to keep a lot of the daylight out early morning but don't use the blinds downstairs.
