Last out there in 1995. The mumbles mile and Cinderella's long since dead :-(

This is very true, although the White Rose in Mumbles is fairly lively still

Try Wind Street, 5-10 minute stroll from the station, a Welsh version of our Bridge Street, just with a little more vomit on the pavements

This thread reminded me of the stag do story of the cage fighters in drag, in Swansea.

I live in Swansea  :)

You'll want to start off on Wind Street. There are a few restaurants here as well (although the quality varies), so can start with a bite to eat, then go straight into one of the many bars. There are probably about 15-20 different bars/pubs to choose from. Depending on the age group of the stag party, there will be something for you. The more popular bars are Revolution, Varisty, Walkabout, Pitcher & Piano and Idols. These places tend to warm up from 8pm and stay open til late. Once you've had enough of Wind Street, walk to the top of the road, cross to the big fountain, then just follow the crowds up to the Kingsway.

Can't really go wrong with Oceana. A few little clubs within one big club. Taxi rank is right across the road from Oceana.

Did that used to be Ritzy's?

thanks folks, we used to have an oceana here in mk and it was the last place i'd have gone to on a night out but it does seem to sound quite popular down there.  we have free entry for it so no doubt we'll check it out but i'm more inclined to try and find independant bars/clubs if at all possible.

You need to get over to three cliffs bay on the Gower, the morning after. Huge sandy stretch with hardly anyone there!

If you're looking for something a little bit different, then try the Monkey Bar on Castle Street. Its within walking distance from Wind Street and is far more....eclectic than clubs like Oceana (which did used to be Ritzys among others). There is also Sin City (a bit further along from Oceana), Escape (if you like hardcore dance and taking ecstacy), and Lava Lounge & Play (bottom of Wind Street).

The Swansea Jack is still there, although probably struggling these days now that the Swans have moved from the nearby Vetch.

Not sure where you're staying or what you're doing, but if you get the chance, start the night off in the Mumbles. Plenty of decent pubs in a great setting.
