Was tempted to go to this, but after spending £84 on tickets yesterday giving it a miss.

Reckon we'll step it up after supermarine and win. 3-0.

Just Player.

Cheers.

Navarro misses out because of illness I see... Ferry-Miller has looked the better partnership so far IMO. So hopefully Fezza can impress and earn his starting XI spot back.

I agree, Ferry + Miller work well together and give us more attacking options IMO.

Looks like it's gonna be McCormack and Archie as Di Canio's preferred centre half pairing this season then. Must admit the few times I saw Flint last season that whilst he looked terrific in the air and dominated physically I still wasn't convinced he was a footballer.

I hope this season commentators are betetr than the ones that ended up the season after Vic was dumped, I do miss Vic's enthusiasm....as long as he tempers it a little when we "nearly" score.

I personally would like Vic back but that won't be happening any time soon.

My one and only gripe, if you can call it that. Even then though, you can almost forgive it because he's a fan and he gets over excited just like any of us would. Chris Wise is very good and very professional, as was Ed Hadwin, but at the end of the day, commentating on the Town is a step on the career ladder for them - not that I blame them or have anything against them for that. It's just that when Vic does it, you can feel the love, if you know what I mean.

Sounded like a considerable improvement on Supermarine. Will be interesting to see the starting XI against Palace - reckon that will be pretty much the starting line up at Hartlepool, although it won't be that different to the starting XI tonight I suspect.

There was no fight behind the goal, a fight generally means someone is punches or kicked, if anyone calls that a fight then they've lived seriously sheltered lives.

Stewards were being egged on by Salisbury fans to throw out the stag for no real reason other than we were being a bit obnoxious and insulting their precious little club(standard football banter, one team in Wiltshire, etc.) when they went to chuck out the stag the lads surrounded him so they couldn't get to him and told the stewards in no uncertain terms to fuck off and get a sense of humour. End of.

The buffoon in fancy dress jumped on the the pitch after the 2nd goal which is why they wanted him out, and rightfully so. They had been on the piss since noon. One of the 'lads' grabbed a steward by his jacket and kept ramming him in to a metal bar, a fight no, an assault yes. I took my 6 and 10yr old kids to this game, even the wife came, these people were a fucking embarrassment, bearing in mind its a pre season friendly. It was all light humoured at first, banter, congas etc, but behaviour like that doesn't belong at a football match when young kids are getting their first taste of football. If that means I live a sheltered life then so be it  :)

Absolutely vile behaviour by the sounds of it on the TEF (I'm now one of you lot that don't go to games), how dare this lot act up like this? Somebody needs to stand up to them all with baseball bats and knifes. All pissed up chavs, If you did it back in the 80's you'd get a slap and somebody needs to stand up to them now. Vile behaviour!

Not too sure what football violence in the 80's has got to do with a few pissed idiots at a Pre Season friendly? My point is quite simple, there is no need for it. We all like a beer, some can handle it better than others, I just dont really want my kids subjected to it, which is why i took them to a pre season friendly, rather than say, Rovers away. Sorry if my moaning offends you, that's the trouble with forums, they have a tendency to let you air your thoughts.

Which is a bit like saying "I've seen six people murdered, so why are you moaning that your kids saw a bloke stabbed in the bum"?  Both are bad things, one clearly worse to see than the other.  You don't want your kids seeing either.

I love a lot of things about football, and its history.  Hooliganism isn't one of them.

A pissed up lad on a stag do going on the pinch for ten seconds at a pre-season friendly in front of a few hundred people is hardly football hooliganism though is it? It's unfortunate that both stewards, Salisbury fans and it seems some sections of our fans have absolutely no sense of humour.

There was no scuffle at all. Even 'pushing a steward in to a metal bar' is exaggerating what happened. The stewards were the aggressors, but realised they were severely outnumbered and got their marching orders. Had it been laughed off and taken with a pinch of salt, everyone would have carried on as normal.

Agreed arriba, which is a judgement call everytime you take your kids to football.  Its something I've started thinking about when my kids get to an age that I could take them (currently nearly two and nearly due) - but I think a pre-season friendly against a local non league team should be safe.

Plus - and this is very much a personal opinion - what a shit place to spend a stag do!

To be fair - I wasn't there, and you were so maybe I'm getting wound up over nothing.  It seems a shame that any aggression on either side was present in this context - a pre-season friendly.  However, I stick to the other point I made one post earlier - what a shit idea for a stag do!

It's honestly no exaggeration, we must have been at a different game or something.  I cant see how having a sense of humour makes any of this acceptable. If I jumped on to the pitch at The CG after a goal was scored I really don't think or expect it to be taken with a pinch of salt.

We obviously all have different views on what is acceptable at a football match, personally I go for the football. I found it amusing when the neanderthals turned up, they got the atmosphere going, danced around and had plenty of banter with the Salisbury fans which is good, assault isn't.

A pissed up lad entering the ground has done enough to get banned from attending matches in the eyes of the law. To then enter the pitch is another offence which again is a enough to get banned. To be ejected from the ground and left at that would have been alot less harsh than if old bill had dealt with it.

It's honestly no exaggeration, we must have been at a different game or something.
I found it amusing when the neanderthals turned up, they got the atmosphere going, danced around and had plenty of banter with the Salisbury fans which is good, assault isn't.

I think we must have been, either that or have hugely different definitions of assault.

I was 10 yards to the left of it, to grab someone is assault, are you telling me a steward was not grabbed at any point?

Where I've grow up, in the real world, no to grab someone is not an assault. Just like when the stewards grabbed people prior to this, I'm sure no one would have been crying assault.

In the real world that is an assault, not the most violent assault by any means, but in the eyes of the law, it is an assault, whether that fits in with your real world is neither here nor there.

1. The steward was not assaulted, just told in no uncertain terms to fuck off.
2. The Salisbury fans started the abuse and then
 Didn't like the response.
3. We left of our own accord as we were bored.
3a. We did not trash the Swindon town bus. Just had a picture taken on it and a few people sat in the drivers seat.
4. Sailsbury is a shit place for a stag do but a stag do is not about where u go it's about having a great day out with your best mates. To be honest everyone on the stag do has know each other for years and would run through brick walls for each other and all have a deep love for Swindon, booze and each other. People may very well be disgusted by certain behavior but I am hugely proud to call each and everyone one of them a good mate.
5. It was a great fucking day!
