Title: Pets
Post by: 4D on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, 09:11:45
Picking up a kitten on Friday, it'll be the first cat I've owned for 30+ years.

It's female, any name suggestions?

Any other pet owners on here, not including BR after his latest situation  :)

My local ruby house does them but they're too sweet for my tastes.

An ex-colleague also had a cat called Ceefer.  And his hamster was called Rommell.

I'm all for calling animals human names, like Bryan from Family Guy. My Mum let me name one of her puppies, although Barbara made her laugh, she refused it, as she likewise did for Sharon. She named it herself in the end.

I agree with Barry... human names all the way, especially if it's a pet you might have to call out to in public.

We once had a cat, she was a stray that made herself at home.

Her name was Mel. The reason being that when she first arrived I asked her 'what's your name?', to which she replied: 'Mel'

Do cats sound different in Thailand? Is it like Stewie's European See and Say?

After turning down Barbara and Sharon as a name for a puppy it seems a little unfair to call the puppy 'herself' - imagine having to call that!

Sorry.....

As much as I'd love to say they have an Asian accent, they just sound like normal cats. There is some good news though because the Thai word for cat is meow.

I always go for names of gods when naming animals. My current whippet is Loki.

Hate it when pets have human names, probably as when I was a kid I used to walk a pair of retrievers called Crockett and Tubbs, after the Miami Vice characters. Iused to feel a right prat calling their names.

All cats should be killed. Can't stand them.

my cat is called Kisa, as apparently that is Kitty in russian.
also it's handy as it's not gender specific, which is handy as we though Kisa was a young lady for the first 3 months of his life with us
