THEY say you can judge the dedication, or perhaps slight insanity, of a football fan by the lengths to which they go to follow their team. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/9804044.Meet_Town_s_travelling_army/?ref=rss Title: Re: Adver News: Meet Town's travelling army Post by: Arriba on Saturday, July 7, 2012, 11:45:04 Get a life.

;D Title: Re: Adver News: Meet Town's travelling army Post by: fatbasher on Saturday, July 7, 2012, 17:28:12 At nearly £50 a pop for a shirt, I think I know where they spent their money instead... Last season's was £38.00 and this seasons £45.00. A generic polo shirt from last season was in the low £30's ffs. Seriously, I can't fault their enthusiasm but their dress style is rather poor. Title: Re: Adver News: Meet Town's travelling army Post by: nochee on Saturday, July 7, 2012, 17:30:32 I may have this wrong but the article says it took them 8 hours to get to lake Garda. Bullshit, surely?

One with old stylee logo polo shirt and one with old rep shirt two seasons old.  Well the day before we travelled to watch our team, the new shirts were still not on sale, therefore making it a bit difficult to wear the up to date shirt. You have to wear colours to games then? Very rarely have i worn colours and when i was following the team in the 70's the last thing you wanted to do was wear colours! Have to be honest Lake Garda is slightly better than Coate Water! There was 8 Town fans there,no idea who the other 3 were. Might have to change that to one more fan as the other 3 were not wearing colours! Title: Re: Adver News: Meet Town's travelling army Post by: swindon61uk on Monday, July 9, 2012, 15:18:32 Last day in Garda today before heading north to Molveno tomorrow, luckily the new venue for the game is only 3 miles away.
Know of at least two more going to this game. It really is a great place, visited Venice yesterday, numerous boat trips around the lake and the temparture is currently 34 degrees,Molveno the temparture drops to the same as Swindon with thunderstorms forecast. If so, I used to meet you lot when there were about six us at away games on Friday nights in Halifax etc in 1982/83. I can't take much credit, as I only travelled from Manchester, but to travel 300 miles to watch us get beat from an open terrace in driving sleet took some dedication.Title: Re: Adver News: Meet Town's travelling army Post by: chalkies_shorts on Monday, July 9, 2012, 19:22:15 No Chalkie has known me for 30 plus years, true he still thinks i am cunt. Both statements are factually correct. Title: Re: Adver News: Meet Town's travelling army Post by: swindon61uk on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, 11:07:02 Are you Alex the Aardvark's mate?
