genoa relegated from serie a to serie c for match fixing  :nono:
messina and torino suspended for financial reasons
only 17 teams in serie a this season
and we thought our f.a. was incompetant  :clown:

Yeah,but last season they promoted more teams than they did the year before so fiorentina could be promoted,so they are just making the league program smaller.:) Messina and torino have been done for spending too much money and not balancing their books,if the f.a did that there would hardly be any teams left playing professional football.Good news about genoa,cause i'm a sampdoria fan.But they were silly bastards,they needed a point to go up on the last day of the season,so they decided to get the team they were playing to let them draw.Relegation to sere c seems a bit harsh,it goes on a lot in italian football.

It does seem to be one rule for the big boys and another for everyone else...

When I arrived here last summer, Anonca had just been relegated to Serie C2 for 'financial irregularities', resulting in the ENTIRE playing and coaching staff being sacked and almost all of the Board being banged up. The club basically had to start again and this season they finished 8th in C2, the lowest professional club. But when the same (massively larger) situation is found at Lazio they give them a slap on the wrist. Though they have banned Roma from conducting transfers for a year which is a start.

With regards to Torino and Messina, it's a bit harsh that they have suddenly clamped down so hard on them. Though to be fair, them's the rules. It's just so typically Italian to only prosecute the arch rivals of the Old Lady and the team of the Mob.

Genoa were fucking stupid. There was a fight on the pitch against Venezia and in explanation the Genoa defender said: 'We had an agreement, and then they tried to score. They weren't supposed to score. BUT THEY DID!!'

If the same financial inspections were done throughout the leagues (in any country I expect) most of the teams would be fucked.

Its unfair,but its the same everywhere,contrast the f.a's treatment of us with spurs,the big clubs get away with it and the small clubs get shafted.

Why can't the Italians just do it properly?! :|
