Cool idea, shame you can't book the room during a match! I think you can book the rooms, but you aren't allowed to watch a game - don't know how they stop you!! I think Twickenham has got a Marriott which is incorporated in the stand as well Cool idea, shame you can't book the room during a match! Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: Trashbat? on Monday, May 21, 2012, 14:30:17 Stadium MK has a similar thing. A quick google reveals that the pitch facing rooms have different check in times, so that they are not occupied during matches.
Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: Abrahammer on Monday, May 21, 2012, 14:37:41 I've stayed in a pitch facing hotel room at The Reebok Stadium. It had some pretty sturdy electronic blinds that it said automatically shut during a game
Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: dporter on Monday, May 21, 2012, 14:38:35 Didn't realise it was so common. Yeah can't check in until 8pm on a match day. Also the doors don't open properly which has spoilt the plans of a drunken midnight kick about!
Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: Saxondale on Monday, May 21, 2012, 15:14:19 I worked the help for heroes gig at Twickenham a couple of years back. I was there for 3 days but on the Saturday night they had a few rooms in the adjoining marriot hotel to use for the acts next day so they gave me one.
So I spent the Saturday night I was in tom jones's bed(the welsh singing one, not the true legend who played for town) with a view and a little balcony into the stands to go for a fag. Ive also stayed at the Holiday inn norwich which back onto carrow road. Could see the pitch but it was a thursday so no match action. Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Monday, May 21, 2012, 15:30:40 The Old Trafford Cricket Ground has hotel rooms overlooking the pitch, and pretty sure that people were watching the match from the room balconies when I last went there.
Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: cheltred69 on Monday, May 21, 2012, 18:43:04 I've stayed at the Holiday Inn, Oxford a couple of times, right next to the Kassam.
You even get the pleasures of a bus ride through Blackbird Leys when going into town. Not the nicest location but a decent cheap option. Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: THE FLASH on Monday, May 21, 2012, 18:49:37 Stayed at the reebok.

I pissed on the '4th stand' on my way back from Frankie & Benny's Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: Uncletrunx on Monday, May 21, 2012, 20:37:34 Wasn't there a Scottish ground which had someone's house as part of one stand? Complete with a window facing onto the pitch?

Presumably cheaper than the ones that face the road. Title: Re: View from my hotel room Post by: Anteater on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 15:19:03 I believe there is a room in the CG Hotel you can book from where you can see the cigarette smoke drifting from the back of the Town End bogs !
