Title: Blackburn Post by: kerry red on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 17:42:36 Never had much love for Blackburn - remember the away play-off match there in the 90s getting forcibly ejected from the pub - honest I was just enjoying myself!!
But got to feel for Steve Kean - how much dignity has he shown with all the abuse showered on him for months on end. Can see Blackburn doing a Southampton, Norwich, Coventry and dropping into League 1 in the next couple of seasons. Venkys has a lot to answer for Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 17:47:45 There's another perspective..........
If he quits he gets nothing If he's sacked, he gets a nice big payout Or you can call it dignity if you want Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: Abrahammer on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 17:49:38 They have got a few decent young players so if they can hold on to some of them it will help them next season, although I believe Hoillet is out of contract.
Kean has been treated a bit shit by the fans it shouldn't hide the fact he hasn't done a great job. He put out a team that showed no attacking intentions in games they needed to win (Spurs, Wigan), now whose does that remind me of? :hmmm: Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 17:54:33 Kean should have never got the job. I don't blame their fans at all for doing their nuts over him and venkys

Its not fair on the manager, it never is really. Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 18:33:16 Was it fair that Allardyce got the boot with Kean waiting to jump in his place?
Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: Batch on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 18:35:39 Was it fair that Allardyce got the boot with Kean waiting to jump in his place? Nope. All I meant was the personal and relentless abuse he got isn't really fair on him. But he knew what it was like when he took it on I suppose. And I'm not saying I haven't done it in the past (McMahon) or won't in the future. Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 18:36:35 And I'm not saying I haven't done it in the past (McMahon) It would have been rude not to with that scouse twat Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: Ardiles on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 18:57:15 I vented my feelings about Blackburn earlier today on another thread (http://thetownend.com/index.php/topic,39090.msg1077516.html#msg1077516). Hate the way they bought their Premier League place 20 years ago...although lots of other clubs have done the same since. The disgusting behaviour of a large section of their fans towards Steve Kean has only cemented the ill feeling I have for them.
Knock away the support of the £ millions injected from the previous owner, and you have a club that will find its level in the Championship or League 1...which was pretty much where they used to be before Jack Walker came along. We kinda bought league 2 this season and that wasn't their fans doing when they spent big. Andy king got dogs abuse and so have players at the county ground. Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: Barry Scott on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 19:12:47 I hate Bolton and hope they go down and cost Gartside shit loads. I couldn't really give a fuck what happens to the rest of the prem, although the thought of Man U not winning the title causes a wry smile.
Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: chalkies_shorts on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 19:32:47 Steve Kean is the most delusional twat I've come across since Comical Ali in Baghdad. If I was a Blackburn fan I'd hate him. He's swallowed a load of motivational books and regurgitates shite.
Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: Batch on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 19:39:06 I hate Bolton and hope they go down and cost Gartside shit loads. Now that I agree with. He is a cunt, but his "self preservation society" bleating got the parachute payment scheme extended to 5 years after Prem relegation. So I doubt his misery will be long term. Completely different scale. My criticism stands. Completely different scale. My criticism stands. I agree with you. Never liked Blackburn but tbf there have been plenty worse than Jack Walker. I was a "Kingy out" fan but kept that until after the match had been lost (which was about ten out of eleven times during one run). PDC's triumphalism and success this season had left me strangely deprived of the dashed hope and occasional raging anger which had been my more familiar pleasure. I didn't feel good about myself but I resorted to the twin Satans of Sky and the Premiershit to watch Blackburn v Bolton back in November-ish. Couldn't resist it. Cue Blackburn going one down at home after 5 minutes and it seemed the whole ground was chanting "Kean out". It got worse (or better) at 0-2. Just to experience this was well worth the loss of self respect ... it was exactly what I needed. Late on, Yakubu pulled one back which slightly spoiled things leaving only half the crowd chanting "Kean out". The serious point is if those shit, spoilt fans had at least backed their effing team during the actual matches they might have stayed up...even with a shit manager. The players have been heroes, well paid admittedly, to battle on through that abuse and the fans and the Venkys, more than the hapless Kean, can take all the credit for Blackburn's demise. They deserve each other. Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: TheMajorSTFC on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 23:28:51 Steve Kean: Cult Hero, Shite manager!
Title: Re: Blackburn Post by: DMR on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 08:09:25 How can anyone feel sorry for Steve Kean? He's done an utterly awful job, fuck me that game at Spurs 2 weeks ago when they HAD to win and didn't even muster up one shot, playing 5-5-0! And he had the gall to come out and say they had a go!
He's a deluded mug and I will be astonished if he ever manages above L1 level from now. |
