Owners considering changing their colour from blue to red as well as other things. Cant say I'd be happy about it at all if someone came in and tried to change the colour of our kit. Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: Costanza on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 15:29:12 I bet their forums are going doolally.
Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: Ralphy on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 15:29:28 Wrong on so many levels.
Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: bigbobjoylove on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 15:29:43 The ole slippery slope. Wont be long till we have sponsors in the team name like that god-awful bastard of a club in Austria.

How would you feel if we had the opportunity to have millions more invested in to the club infrastucture and squad, but we had to change from red to blue and change our nickname to something new? Personally the nickname change wouldn't bother me as we share it with a few other teams. I would prefer to have something unique anyway. The colour change would be more of an issue, but if we were to see investment that could put us back in the premiership again I think I would be willing to sacrafise the colour change. Interested to see what others think. Im guessing most would rather keep the red after the uproar at Wembley two years ago? Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: Give us an S on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 15:36:09 Just realised you have started this too. Surely a chance to play in the premiership again is worth it. I would rather get to see us in the premiership again but in a different colour than never see us play in the premiership.
Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: Trashbat? on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 15:39:08 Sell the soul and history of a football club down the river for the Premiership, with no guarantees you would stay there.
I cant say im that keen on the idea. Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: Batch on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 15:39:41 I'd be a bit pissed off to be honest. I'm not sure Swindon's Asian fanbase exists much past BR and CR, and frankly BR can fuck off!
Seriously, its the reason for doing it in that report that seems a little weak. It doesn't really suggest a reason other than the owner seeing red as being "more dynamic". Oh and Wrexham are the Dragons. Title: Re: Rebranding of Cardiff from Blue to Red Post by: oxford_fan on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 15:41:26 That's an obese red squirrel, not a groundhog. Same face.

I wouldn't change the name of Swindon, but im not really that fussed what colour we play in. But I know others are very protective. Im just saying I would choose premiership football over wearing red. But then I would change my surname to Oxford if I could marry Pixie Lott.
Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: Ardiles on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 15:49:00 'While the shirts and club badge could change colour, Cardiff City sources categorically deny that the club - whose nickname is "the Bluebirds" - will become known as "the 'Red Dragons''.'
Note to the Malaysian investors: nicknames just happen. You don't get to choose them. Idiots. Reminds me of the time Paul Ince moved to Liverpool from Inter and suggested his new team mates all call him 'The Guv'nor'. Timing also could have been a little better. Talk about kicking a set of fans when they're down. I almost feel sorry for them. I found them both to be insufferable moping teenage bores. The only reason you would want to fuck em is to shut em up. Though admittedly they were quite attractive. Maybe (just maybe) they didnt fancy me. Highly unlikely. Or maybe they did fancy me and thats why they went all quiet and surly. Thats it. Yes definitely that one. If ever there was proof needed that money is the lord and master of Football, here it is. I guess they're lucky that the whole club isn't moving to Asia, a la Franchise. To me all that matters is we are Swindon and I want to see us at the highest level. I wouldn't want all the baggage that comes with foreign owners etc and I wouldnt swap our board. I guess my point was that the standard we play at, the teams we play and the grounds we go to matter more to me than the colour of our shirt. But i know most people dont share that opinion and i fully understand why. Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: Give us an S on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 21:31:30 ...... Title: Re: Cardiff City 'rebranding' Post by: Flashheart on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 21:31:35 But i know most people dont share that opinion and i fully understand why. Premiership football is more important to me than the colour of the shirt. But I can appreciate most care more about the colour and history and that's fine. I shall take my difference of opinion and be gone.
