Title: Formatting a memory stick Post by: donkey on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, 19:11:04 Hi All,
Quick question. Will formatting a memory stick properly delete any documents on it so they can't be recovered? I've tried using the shredder thing Simon Pieman put up a few months ago but it doesn't begin the process with the memory stick. Cheers in advance. It's simply right click and choose erase. Or at least it was when I used to use it.

You could also use CCleaner (free download). In the tools section there is a drive wiper tool that will wipe the drive so nothing can be recovered. CCleaner is also very useful for giving your system a quick tidy to delete all the crap that accumulates over time. I don't really know windows post XP, so I'm afraid I don't know how to do that. This looks like it will help. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11841-run-administrator.html Title: Re: Formatting a memory stick Post by: donkey on Thursday, April 26, 2012, 15:02:42 Have you tried turning it off and on again?
