Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 15:59:17 Promotion was the main aim of this season, anything else is a bonus.
Congratulations Swindon. Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 15:59:19 Fuck yeah. Let's finish as champions at home next week and lift the trophy.

Now lets go & get the three points at home next week & tie up the championship. Bradford away can then be a party :) OH, and the bonus is that the scummers are out of the play-off places Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: ghanimah on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 16:00:22 I'm going to get pissed :beers: :beers: :beers: :beers: :beers: :beers: :beers: :beers:

Well down Swindon - champions next Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: leefer on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 16:24:06 Great achievement especially after the very poor start to the season.
Onwards and upwards and the Stanley goal v Shrews will mean we win the league i reckon. Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 16:29:39 The players? :hmmm: We were effectively up last week, hence the players out on the lash...this week has just been plain bizarre. Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: stfcinbmth on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 16:30:26 Great achievement especially after the very poor start to the season. Onwards and upwards and the Stanley goal v Shrews will mean we win the league i reckon. Few beers next week then :pint: Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: ghanimah on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 16:32:59 Oddly enough Poxford's forum is rather subdued about our achievement...one of only the few comments said...

WOOT! Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: FormerlyPlymRed on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 16:37:53 Bit strange at the full time whistle considering we lost but great scenes after! Players need a bit of a pick-me-up though from Paolo during the week, thought a few looked subdued but maybe due to the performance
WERE UP, FUCK YEAH Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: ronnie21 on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 16:40:18 Glad we are promoted as couldn't face playoffs. If you want to moan fuck-off Well said! Getting out of this league was the thing we needed to do,had a great season all told :)WOOOOOO HOOOOOO Hope the berk moaning on in the match day thread about how much it cost to watch town go up today has a good night :sherlock: Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 17:57:07 Well that was a fantastic result against what would appear to be a good side in the Jills. Glad to be proven right in the end :)Listening on the radio I couldnt make out if it was a good game or not, and reading back through this thread half the people say it was a good game and we played well and half say we were not very good and rode our luck hugely, I guess it does show that football is often a matter of opinion. There does appear to be a great team spirit now with all at the club on and off the pitch, I have always had faith in PdC, even after the Saints debacle when a lot of fans were calling for him to go. I think he will become a legend at the CG. I feel that this could possibly emulate the season under Macari in 85-86, its panning out in a very similar way as that season did way back 25 years ago..... We started off very poorly only 2 wins and 1 draw in the first 8 games compared to 3 wins and 0 draws in the first 8 games this season. After 15 games that season we were in 8th place and had won 8, drew 1 and lost 6 games compared to being in 7th place and won 8, drew 1 and lost 6.......coincidence? :) The only difference is that we have scored more and conceded less than that famous season, that season we had scored 18 and let in 19 compared to this season when we have scored 25 and conceded 15 goals at the same stage. Yes its the ramblings of a deluded old git but it does bear a striking resemblance to that season when we went on and recorded 102 points. Also that season we scraped out a lot of 1 and 2 goal wins, sometimes against the run of play and rode our luck like at Plymouth at the weekend and there was a great team spirit as we have now and the level of fitness of the team was very high as it is now. I think it all bodes welll for the future. Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: Gnasher on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 18:01:00 Gary Rose has been busy at the beeb...

Was feeling quite downbeat until that cracking strike from Alan (Alan) McCormack - then, with results going our way, it felt like the party had started.
Quite a few of us even cheered when they scored their penalty - it was irrelevant! :) Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: RedRag on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 19:11:41 Jan Aage Fjortoft@JanAageFjortoft

If you want to moan fuck-off WOOOOOO HOOOOOO Couldn't have put it better myself Flash Well done PDC, the players and fans, not a single one of us would've turned down the position we now find ourselves in at the start of the season. :pint: Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: Nijholts Nuts on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 19:34:21 @janAageFjortoft:

Good to see Swindon back in league 1 great season. He came to my gig in Wolves the other night. I put him on the guest list on the condition he comes back for a season long loan next year. If it happens, you know who to thank. Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: Batch on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 20:01:15 Fully enjoyed the post-match celebrations. Was feeling quite downbeat until that cracking strike from Alan (Alan) McCormack - then, with results going our way, it felt like the party had started. Quite a few of us even cheered when they scored their penalty - it was irrelevant! :) Spot on. Absolute quality once Macca scored and then new of the equaliser from Shrews went in. The celebrations at the end, the walk singing thorough Gillingham, SL show Clem was quality at the station - seemed OK with it all the way back to London, singing masses on the way home and then a few beers with Gazza on the train. Brilliant, so glad I went. Title: Re: The Official TEF promotion thread Post by: bertheadbabe on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 20:13:02 Well done to all the loyal supporters who've followed the lads in all wind and weather. Great to be promoted. Let's hope for a good season in League Division 3, and that PdiC calms down a bit ;) |
