The BBC reports suggest they were both involved. Obviously not heard the evidence given but it does seem odd for one to walk away while the other gets 5 years.

They found cannabis and cocaine in her blood (but she claimed to never have taken either) and she didn't report the incident until that evening having gone to work on a late shift (not that this makes anyone less guilty)

What i don't understand is how these situations arise again and again! Time after time footballers get accused of raping drunken girls and time after time these girls put themselves into potentially risky situations. Why do they not learn from the mistakes of others! Either the guys think they can take advantage of drunken girls or they use their status to attract the girls. On the flip side these girls often seem to go with the footballers to make a fast buck (just check the Sunday papers most weeks) or they go out, get trashed and end up in a dangerous situation. I'm not condoning either party but it riles me that people put themselves in these positions!

Being serious for a second I'm not sure I agree with, he shagged some drunk bird, with or without consent, so I hope he get abused in prison. Personally, I'm always very dubious about rape claims against stars. They are always vulnerable to people wanting to make a name for themselves and I've seen two cases of false allegations against (not famous) people I know

If he is genuinely guilty then he should be doing time (and the other lad must surely be complicit also), but for me there's always a doubt in my mind in cases like this one.

I'm with you on this. I also know people who have had false allegations made against them. Named in the paper and all the shit that goes with it when completely innocent. One even went on remand in prison before being found not guilty.

I think people are leaning towards retribution, eye for an eye, etc. Maybe not right, given that the law process has been gone through and he's been sent down, but rape is a fucking awful crime - worse that murder in my opinion as the victim suffers for the rest of their lives, as do the family members, husbands / boyfriends etc.

The law provides a period of incarceration for rapists, which is viewed by many as being far too lenient, hence the wish for him to go through a bit of pain as well.

At the end of the day the bloke is now a nonce. He'll get segregation cover in the nick, but will definately be a target for physical damage or otherwise, same as all nonces are. Screw usually turn the other way and CCTV is usually on the blink during attacks.... fair play.

Same here.  Happened to a friend of mine.  He had to move out of Swindon under his bail conditions for the 8 months or so until the case came to court and the other bloke accused with him lost his job over it. Their pictures were splashed all over the Adver while the case was going on.  After the not guilty verdict, the accuser admitted to various people it had been a consensual threesome and she made it up because she was worried people would find out and think she was a slag.  The police decided not to press charges for some unknown reason and she got to remain anonymous, absolute joke.

What have those two got to do with a chap who's just been found guilty for rape?  In a case where the female's version of events is summed up by a number of her responses in court 'I can't remember'.  Now I'm not saying Evan's is guilty or not, but to wish that someone is buggered for 5 years is pretty sick.

He will be far away from anyone who can do him harm anyway.

Fact is it takes a hell of a lot of evidence to get a rape trial to court let alone getting a verdict.
The evidence must have been really strong to get it to court.

He has been found guilty by a jury and has got his just deserts.....just a shame he and his scum mate just couldn't man up and save her all the trouble of going through a trial.

If you meet a girl who is pissed as a fart taking advantage of her and leaving her alone in a strange room and filming it all at the same time.......5 years is the least he deserves.

The sad thing being is the way they treated this girl(rape or not) they still probably do not think there actions are wrong.....well maybe the next few years he will have plenty of time to contemplate his actions.
