What a strange one that is

If he's not gonna play here he may as well go out and get games. If a young player is going to go anywhere to play games Crewe is pretty much the best option. Plus this gives Crewe more of a chance of knocking the scum off of 7th place...

Well I know we're not allowed to criticise PDC-but Bodin or Tehoue/Murray?The former for me.

Benson-Connell-Bodin in that order for me

I thought Benson and Bodin looked a partnership that could develop really well. Bodin seemed to read the flick ons from Benson well and make good runs. Di Canio made a lot of noise about Bodin being our player when he came back in Jan but maybe Billy's felt he deserves a place and asked to go out on loan again.

I think it's really difficult for the 2nd strikers to hold their place as PdC will chop and change so the partnerships don't develop. Bodin played well against Daggers, scored one and hit the post with a sublime turn and shot but was pulled off after about 50mins against Cheltenham.

Agree Crewe's a good place for his development as Bodin has got ability and if they catch the Pox even better

As per what seems common consensus, Bodin should be playing ahead of Murray and Tehoue. I fear we won't see him in STFC red again, as I don't recall him signing that new contract.

Bodin must've shit in Paolo's shoes before the Crewe game or something because this decision makes no sense at all. The two loan strikers should've been sent back if it meant we had to offload players to bring in the two loan players today.

We should be trying to grow a promising young player of our own.  Instead we bring in the likes of Murray and Tehoue who I don't believe offer anything that Bodin doesn't.  Very disappointing.

As I said on another thread maybe Crewe will take Bodin+cash for Nick Powell in the summer

Bodin's gone out on loan, it's a fucking travesty! Have a word with yourselves you silly cunts.

He obviously doesn't feature in PdC's immediate plans. Just think of the other promising youngsters we've had on the books who've not had the game time, declined to go out on loan, rotted in the reserves and then drifted into the non-league wilderness.

Fair fucks to Billy actually wanting to/agreeing to go out on loan.

What, you mean in the same way it was his choice to go to Torquay in the first place? That he asked the boss if he could go to get games?.........

Surely not

OH LOOK IT'S SOMETHING VAGUELY NEGATIVE LET'S JUMP DOWN THEIR THROAT.

I'd say Bodin is our second best striker, probably on par with connell. I'd rather he stay here ahead of Murray and Tehoue because I think he'd offer us more on the pitch at this point in time - not because of his development. Our squad is weaker without him than it is with him.

I can understand the confusion over the move

Apart from Bodins wonder goal i personally have been a tad disapointed in his general all round play in the matches i have seen him.
An obvious talent he will be back and better for it.
He has a bright future, and it will be here in my opinion.

As for all you people knocking Paolo for not starting Connell.....Connell was gagging for it the other night and had his best game by miles.
Maybe good management in my book.

I think Tehoue will prove a very useful addition to the squad, his link up play was much improved on Tuesday night and he's a more physical presence than Bodin.

Bodin's got bags of potential though and I hope he's here next season.

You miss the point...... Some people are just to repetitive

And I agree with everything you say. I'm a bit miffed at BB going.

Sorry.Did i just see someone say we are weaker without Bodin? on what basis? I two poorest patches of form have actually coincided with when he has been involved.I think he is a great prospect but pretty much agree with leefer.

Thats not a dig at a negative post btw.I'm just inclined to trust what our manager is doing

Agree to disagree I guess. I was probably a bit harsh to write tehoué off, but from what I've seen of Murray and Bodin this season I'd have Bodin ahead of Murray every time. That's what I meant when I said the squads weaker.

Paolo's transfer record has been a bit hit and miss, but you can't argue with the end result. Just hope there's a place for Bodin for next season

I thought they had began discussions some time ago......

I think he has something offer us, mainly because his key attributes are those that set him apart as someone who can cut the mustard higher up: first touch, anticipation, movement, but:

a) Tehouhe is a completely different type of player. An impact sub, strong and direct. No comparison.

b) If him going temporarily sees him play more games, good - we benefit, just like before.

c) If him going temporarily sees us persuade Bostock for next year and we have both of them next year, great.

d) Murray is free if he plays isn't he? Sending him back wouldn't allow for others to come in.

I'm a little disappointed he hasn't gone back to Torquay to be honest. Yes, they're promotion rivals, but we're 7 points clear, we don't have to play them again and Bodin is Swindon's youth product. We wish the best for him, and seeing as he's already settled there, and very highly respected, he will play a lot of games, and can only get better.

The obvious counterargument like I said, was the league title 'rival factor' but realistically?

Exactly.

Everyone knows you don't win things with kids!

I hope this loan move is purely for developmental reasons and not trying to get rid of reasons.

I don't really see what the fuss is about with Bodin, he may turn into a good player but at most at Swindon he is just a squad player.

He himself expressed earlier in the season that he wants first team games, this happened at Torquay and will happen at Crewe, it won't happen at Swindon.....yet, or at most it would only be for parts of games.

Paolo has also said publically that he wants Bodin to extend his stay at Swindon so i don't think he will be sold in the near future, that i sunless we get a silly offer from someone and Paolo and the club deem it good enough to let him go.

Whether Di canio sees Bodin as a player for us is up to him,but lets not kid ourselves that this is for development or the players choice.
He has proven he can cope with this level of football, and wouldn't want to leave us unless his hand was forced.

Odd decision overall, as he was starting to find his feet, but Di Canio knows what he is doing, and like others have said, he may have asked for the move. Who knows. Let's just hope he's around next season.

As for the Tehoure bashing - the man has only been here 2 minutes! How anyone could form an opinion on him already is beyond me..! Talk about giving the guy a fucking chance.....! Fuck....  :suicide: :suicide:

I'm not one for bashing players, but i've seen both of his appearances, and sometimes you just know.... He might be trying too hard, is probably the diplomatic line, so we'll see.

He seemed to do alright in his brief cameo against Torquay. Put himself about, looked sharp etc. We shall see, like you say. Let's get him up to Di Canio's match fitness requirments first and go from there.
