Title: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: News Monkey on Friday, March 16, 2012, 07:00:09 Holmes keen on Swindon stay
LEE Holmes would love to make his temporary switch to Swindon a permanent one in the summer, but is focused solely on doing what he can to help the Robins seal promotion back to League One. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/9594021.Holmes_keen_on_Swindon_stay/r/?ref=rss Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Spencer_White on Friday, March 16, 2012, 07:01:40 All very promising. Just goes to show, if you get a good young player on loan, dont then boo him when he comes back to the County Ground. You never know what can happen.

There may be a few other Champ/L1 clubs in for him at the end of the season if he keeps his form up. Whilst money possibly has some influence over this swap from Oxford-Southampton-Swindon vis a vis we may but no-one knows for sure could be offering to pay a higher percentage of Holmes wages to Southampton, one cannot ignore other factors. His contract is up in the summer, we are likely to be plying our trade in Div 1 next season, the Di Canio factor, Swindon's stock value ( as the yanks say) is on the up so without wishing to deride Oxford, in his boots where would you think your best prospects are going to be going forward? No championship club has made an effort to sign him till the rest of the season to take a look at him have they? So my guess is should Paolo decide that he's one that we want for next season then I'd venture to suggest he'll be in a town shirt come August. Injuries aside, as you say. Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: oxford_fan on Friday, March 16, 2012, 18:21:52 Not much really, it was only ever a 1 month loan. He played well in his 7 games, scored 2 last week and set up the 2 in the derby. We've got J-P Pittman who is left footed and coming back to fitness, and Morgan from Chesterfield, and now Montano (bit of a donkey with you wasn't he? but scored loads for Notts County). So 3 left-footed attackers is plenty. Holmes is probably better than all of them but only marginally. Southampton fans reckon he's seriously injury prone - its the reason he's down in L2 because on his day he is clearly Champ standard and clubs will clock that if he stays fit.
fatbasher there were enquiries from Champ clubs for Holmes, but he wants first team football more or less guaranteed for the rest of the season. Charlton were after him too and wanted to go there, I don't know why that one broke down. Yeah he did. We've had tens of loaners over the past few years and there are few I remember tbh, but I do remember Homles along with Carrick, Davis and Henderson being the best. Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Batch on Friday, March 16, 2012, 20:38:11 Yeah he did. We've had tens of loaners over the past few years and there are few I remember tbh, but I do remember Homles along with Carrick, Davis and Henderson being the best. Derby, Ward, Milner, Jamie Slabber. Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: SuggWillSugg MBE on Friday, March 16, 2012, 20:52:01 I remember Holmes being fucking superb the last time he was here,
Reckon it may have been the first season I had a ST. but could be wrong... Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Dozno9 on Friday, March 16, 2012, 20:53:52 I'd also like to add Ward and Milner to my list after careful consideration :)
Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Nemo on Friday, March 16, 2012, 20:58:17 Derby, Ward, Milner, Jamie Slabber. One of these things is not like the others. Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: DV on Friday, March 16, 2012, 20:59:36 Stephan Darby was decent enough.
10 out of 10 for that penalty as well. Remember that very well. The lads sponsored the last game he played at the CG and he was crying as he left the pitch and in the sponsors suite. Great player during his first spell. Top lad. Makes you realise how many quality loan signings that Kingy actually brought in during those fucking dark days off the pitch. Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Dozno9 on Friday, March 16, 2012, 21:11:45 He knew a decent player more often than not. In Homles's interview I think he calls Kingy barmy? Not the only player recently to open up on what we already knew.

Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Costanza on Friday, March 16, 2012, 21:48:25 I swear I can recall a year or so later, Holmes was in the stands and was expected to re-sign but it didn't come to fruition...?
Either way, I take Holmes' words with a pinch of salt but hope he can replicate his recent good form as a Town player. Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Friday, March 16, 2012, 21:58:40 What a gay. You must be hating life - what would normally be classed as one of the best seasons of all time for you, totally over shadowed by the rivals you just cannot get out of your head. Why don't you crawl back down your little yellow hole and fuck off. Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Friday, March 16, 2012, 21:59:58 Yeah he did. We've had tens of loaners over the past few years and there are few I remember tbh, but I do remember Homles along with Carrick, Davis and Henderson being the best. Milner ???????????? Title: Re: Adver News: Holmes keen on Swindon stay Post by: Costanza on Friday, March 16, 2012, 22:03:51 Feel the love...
