More of a Pericard replacement...think that whereas once Div 3/4 teams used to have the obligatory small tricky Scottish winger....now it has to be the enigmatically talented, but a bit lazy French target man. On a lighter note - Akinfatbastard scored 2 early goals last night for the Cobblers. Unfortunately he is their only real threat up front however cannot play a full 90 minutes. Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Family at War on Thursday, March 8, 2012, 18:39:00 Got a lot of time for Akinfenwa what with fighting against his size and the really bad leg break he had. Read a good article by him not so long ago where he said how proud he was this season when he scored his 100th goal as this really answered the people at school and others when he left who said he would never make a footballer because of his size. Bet you don't hear many supporters from clubs he has played for moan about him! Look at some of the goals he scored for Swansea.

Do you know what, I was thinking where the hell do Talosians come from. Could be some small Caribbean Island with a finance sector. I resisted to Google and its been playing on my mind today. Some sort of medical condition I thought, bit like an Albino. In the end I gave up and had to have a gander and by god nail on the head Reg... Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, March 10, 2012, 14:35:11 Listening to his interview on BBC RS just now, doesn't sound too happy at Orient. He joked about hopefully doing well here, signing for us for a year, then going and scoring a couple past Orient! Let's hope he makes that kind of impact for us.

You are definitely not the first to say that, Reg said it on Wednesday and there have been several other mentions since yesterday. That is all. That is all. Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: ChalkyWhiteIsGod on Sunday, March 11, 2012, 12:22:15 I definitely saw a bit more about him to suggest he's a bit better than the man who's career plumited worse than anyone's in history.
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Saxondale on Sunday, March 11, 2012, 12:22:59 Ok. Since the match yesterday I have mostly been getting pissed and then recovering from being pissed so haven't read through what's been said. Fair enough. Id hate to say something original.
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Benzel on Sunday, March 11, 2012, 12:26:57 At least he's been given half an hour. I was worried he was going to be judged too quickly.
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Arch Stanton on Sunday, March 11, 2012, 13:51:18 He's going to be fighting a losing battle, everyone loves Connell apart from it seems, the manager. So if he's here to take his place people are going to have reservations.
From seeing his short debut he looks quick and has a decent touch. He didn't seems to know where any of our players were for lay offs etc, but that will come in time, he will certainly add something different, more muscle and power perhaps. Not sure whether Benson would be his ideal foil, but time will tell. It is really harsh to judge him after playing for 30 mins and being here less than a week, but I'd prefer Connell to play - so there! :nerner: Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: RJack on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 11:16:07 I thought he did alright last night when he came on. He was definitely short of match fitness when he joined us but he's starting to get a better understanding of the team and the way we play.

Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 11:58:22 Looked half handy... might be a good impact sub when defenders are knackered and he can bully them about.
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: ampthill red on Saturday, March 24, 2012, 08:44:33 He was orients highest paid player ot 3 grand a week. After a bright start he spent the lions share of his time on the treatment table and then slagged them off!. Me guess is he is no more than a lump of meat with eyes and Alan Connell is worth 20 of him.
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Trashbat? on Saturday, March 24, 2012, 08:59:49 Yawn!
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: pericarp on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 08:48:26 So if Paolo publically said that he will not play Tehoue again (most probably) and it was a technical decision, saying that he is not as good as he thought he was and he has other strikers available.. Why don't we send him back? Orient won't take him back again, and is happy to let Swindon pay a share of his wages? Bizarre.
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: ronnie21 on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 08:57:39 You have answered your own question!!
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Costanza on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 09:21:38 Leyton Orient couldn't bring in Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Adam Reed unless they offloaded players. They take him back and their finances take a hit.
Orient are dropping significantly at the moment. I wonder who Scott Cuthbert will join if they get sucked in and get relegated? Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Flashheart on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 09:23:43 It'll be poetic justice to overtake Cuthbert on our way up as Orient go down. Always thought that was a bizarre move from him.

Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Flashheart on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 11:32:36 I thought we did offer a contract, could be wrong though.
Regardless, it was still an odd decision for him to join Orient. Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Bogus Dave on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 11:34:34 No it wasn't. They are in a higher league, and he had no idea of knowing how our season would have panned out.
We don't know about the money, but from a footballing side of things it's Orient all the way. Regardless, I thought Di Canio didn't rate his attitude, and that's why he didn't sign Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Flashheart on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 11:36:42 You miss the point
Orient would not have been the only option available to him. A player like Cuthbert available on a freeby would have seen interest from other clubs aside from Orient. Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Bogus Dave on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 11:39:20 Oh right. Yeah, thats a fair point. Can only guess it was the lure of the capital
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: sonicyouth on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 12:51:32 Cuthbert is one of those players from the last few years who I can't really recall anything about.
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: tans on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 13:00:35 What's the problem with Cuthbert? He wanted to stay at Swindon So did Douglas. Its academic anyway, he was great in the first season, hopeless in the second. An accolade that could go to many of our players last year. Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: tans on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 13:44:31 flash was gonna get him
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 13:44:59 No it wasn't. Regardless, I thought Di Canio didn't rate his attitude, and that's why he didn't sign Would Di Canio have met Cuthbert? I would have thought most were gone by the time PDC turned up. Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Peter Venkman on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 13:57:20 Cuthbert was offered a contract with Swindon, he chose to play in a higher league, he left us we didn't get rid of him.
Pretty crap defender TBH, had potential but will not make it any higher than he is currently playing. Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: chalkies_shorts on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 17:16:33 With Greer beside him, very good. Without Greer by the side of him, very shit. No great loss. Promised much, delivered little.
Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Exiled Bob on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 17:27:15 I'm sure I read at the time that he wasn't offered a new contract. Anyway, I searched for the link and found it here in The Advertiser :
http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/swindontown/news/9065454.Cuthbert_departs_for_Orient/ (http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/swindontown/news/9065454.Cuthbert_departs_for_Orient/) SCOTT Cuthbert today joined Alan Sheehan in completing moves away from Swindon, with the defender joining League One side Leyton Orient. Sheehan earlier came through a medical at Notts County before signing a two-year deal at the club. Cuthbert's initial contract expired this summer, with the club opting not to take up the option to extend his stay by a further year. "I'm absolutely delighted to have signed for Orient. As soon as I heard about the interest in me I was keen to come down here and get things sorted," said the Scot. "It's a great club that wants to move forward and I want to be a part of that." Fair enough, he probably jumped at the opportunity to go to Orient but I never had a problem with him leaving. The others - Prutton, Rose, Sheehan and Douglas especially, were utter tossers. Title: Re: Jonathan Tehoue Post by: Costanza on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 17:48:58 I dare say that there won't be many people beyond Bob Mills who craved a move to Orient more than Cuthbert :)
