3-3 though...bet it was bulman in goal 2nd half, and we were 3-0 up! :soapy tit wank: Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Thursday, July 21, 2005, 20:37:14 I can't believe how seriously some people take friendlies, when else would we play 4 games in a week? They're less important than reserve games.
City drew 1-1 with Tamworth today to follow up their 3-2 defeat by Clevedon, Heywood, Stewart, Brooker and Coles all played, I guess they're going down too! Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, July 21, 2005, 20:47:11 There is no need to worry or even take any notice of pre-season scores as they are just warm up games for players to get used to the game again. They won't be taking it too seriously.
Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: Johno on Thursday, July 21, 2005, 21:03:17 but to be honest BWB, you can understand surely that people expect us to beat bideford and taunton.....
Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: Sippo on Thursday, July 21, 2005, 21:10:10 Pre-friendly results are nothing. They're just used to get match practice. We will come good, confident of that!
Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: sonicyouth on Thursday, July 21, 2005, 21:49:01 It's still a little worrying we've conceded goals against everyone we've played.
Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: walrus on Friday, July 22, 2005, 00:43:43 It's even more worrying how Rory has scored all our goals....
I'm a big fan of Rory's. Don't let that inspire you though, I was also a big fan of Brian Howard's..... :| Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: larwood on Friday, July 22, 2005, 08:10:43 Quote It's still a little worrying we've conceded goals against everyone we've played I don't read too much into pre-season games, but i have to agree with sonic.Last season our major problem was our dodgy defence,to get out of any division you need a good defence,i hope we've got that. Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: magicroundabout on Friday, July 22, 2005, 08:19:22 for me pre season games are just about match fitness.
The teams we play will be more up for it as they are playiong a professional side. Don't forget we wont be going into tackles hard or with much conviction because it's just a friendly. I'm more interested in players getting match fit and the likes of Rory scoring for us cos the lad needs a bit of confidence Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: janaage on Friday, July 22, 2005, 08:22:47 "Don't forget we wont be going into tackles hard or with much conviction because it's just a friendly."
Exactly, we've all played in pre season friendlies it's all about getting match minutes under your belt, so on Aug 6, the likes of Ifil will be quick enough to be within punching range of one of their strikers. Keep the faith dudes. Title: Taunton v Swindon Post by: my-velocity on Friday, July 22, 2005, 08:29:15 Quote from: "Bedford Red" Who was in goal is what I want to know.
