So basically the World's Dullest League(tm) becomes even more predictable for the next few years.

Also Celtic must be rubbing their hands together as they'll be guaranteed CL group stage cash practically every year.

Celtic are nothing without Rangers, they both need the competiton (rivalary) the other brings

They won't be allowed into Europe though, so the CL place will go to 3rd placed Motherwell.
The pride of Lanarkshire.

Or perhaps when the TV money is toned down a little Celtic will cut their cloth accordingly.

Same thing will happen in the EPL one day, once the tv money gets a little more realistic. One day I dream that football will become a sport once again.

But in the meantime I'm gonna join Tans in a little celebration at the (hopeful) demise of the hun.

I'm sure that the Scots have now fallen so far down the UEFA co-efficient that from next season they only qualify for 1 qualifying position for the Champions League. I remember reading that the might of Belgium has gone above them.So Motherwell would get the Europa League spot.

They were doing some sort of tax dodge for their players over a number of years, and HMRC ruled that illegal. Now you an see why Murray sold up.

That happened this year. Next year it jumps back up again.

Ergo our handsome friend Mr Craigan back there will be showing messi how to run a game of football next year.  :toocool:

Couple of quips from the TA board...

'Glad to hear Glasgow Rangers have managed to raise some funds via a new TV deal. From next season all their matches will be shown on The History Channel.'

'Rangers and Hearts plan to merge to get over their money troubles. The new club will be known as Heart of Midlothian Rangers Club or HMRC for short.'

This isn't just about the amounts owed to HMRC. If they have been illegally avoiding tax and NI over the last 8 years , they will be relegated at least two divisions , surely.

Not sure if this is correct but heard that the football creditors rule doesn't apply in Scotland.  Could have a nasty knock-on effect...

Title: Re: Rangers go in Admin.
Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 12:33:55
The rule doesnt apply in Scotland therefore the biggest creditors in Rangers case are the HMRC ..... Oh dear!

I reckon the HMRC could be using it as a test case.  If they nail Rangers then there will be alot of chairmen in alot of boardrooms sitting very uncomfortably!

Only if they're north of the border though as we have the rule in English football.

WTF is going on there something like £23m missing money and a lot of it has been since Whyte took over, apparently though he is eager to buy them back - so they go into admin with debts of something like £100m he buys them back clearing their debts to a minimum via a CVA - something smells rotten

I can't beleive there will be a big queue to buy them knowing they are only 1 of 2 teams in scotland it's not very competitive, they never do well in Europe to get the money from the later rounds....

Sounds very similar to what Ken Bates did at Leeds. Very fishy  :hmmm:

It was reported on the BBC, but since then this story has come out.

The amount of clubs Mandric has been involved in seems to imply he knows how to cream a little bit off the top here and there and make a little money for himself.

Why else would he own so many different clubs, it's not like he's a supporter of several clubs or football's Robin Hood.

C4 News tonight had a special report into Rangers FC.

It was quite revealing with Offshore Trusts, tax avoidance and EBT's.

The guy who wrote the book on how to use them legally has said that Rangers decided to ignore his advice.
