Title: Oxford Finances Post by: kerry red on Sunday, February 12, 2012, 19:03:38 I know a lot on here don't give a flying fcuk about the happenings down the A420, but my brother is married to an Oxford girl whose dad is quite close to the club.
Had a bit of a family get together yesterday and he was saying the real reason we got so few tickets for the game was because, as they sold the home tickets well in advance to get the income in, they decided to give 2000 more tickets for home fans solely to get that much extra income in early rather than waiting til last week when we sold our allocation. He reckons things are really tight down there, much more so than anyone really knows. Apparently the rent the club are being charged my Kassam is ruining them. Title: Re: Oxford Finances Post by: kerry red on Sunday, February 12, 2012, 20:03:55 There seems to be some seriously fcuked up people over there. They are consumed by, and almost defined as a person by, a hatred of everything Swindon.
Smacks so much of an inferiority complex - but I suppose spending the last 30 years on a downward spiral does that to a person Title: Re: Oxford Finances Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Sunday, February 12, 2012, 20:06:25 nah, we are fucked worse than them - afterall all our players are on 5k per week
Title: Re: Oxford Finances Post by: chalkies_shorts on Sunday, February 12, 2012, 20:11:24 nah, we are fucked worse than them - afterall all our players are on 5k per week maybe we're not so fucked when we can temporarily loan one of our cast offs to a tinpot pile of shite and get their fans to pick up the tab. Title: Re: Oxford Finances Post by: yeo on Sunday, February 12, 2012, 20:17:13 Things are tight every where,I reckon we're fucked if we don't go up and even if we do i'm not so sure...I know its not fashionable to say that but there you go :)

With decent season ticket sales, gates, FA Cup run and a Wembley final, I think we can keep the wolves from the door. Even if we don't gp up i can see season ticket sales over 5k again. Revenue is also looking very tidy against a slashed wage bill and as chalkie has already pointed out, we have sale-able assets should we need to cash in. One or two of those might insist on going anyway. We need to get out of this division on the first time of asking though. Once we start losing players it will only get more difficult. Title: Re: Oxford Finances Post by: Huwwy on Sunday, February 12, 2012, 21:31:21 Kassam is ruining them. Good work Agent Kassam, but your mission is not yet complete......so we have sent Agent Kerrouche to assist you Title: Re: Oxford Finances Post by: Nemo on Sunday, February 12, 2012, 21:32:23 It's okay, they can always get a few bob for Constable.
