Anyone else hear him yesterday on Talksport doing the drive time show and talking about how poor it is that Wembley has got to host a match between Chesterfield and Swindon.
Now I always listen to talksport because I enjoy the debates about different topics plus the fact is that the music on any of the radio stations is garbage, why is it everytime a small team does anything any good Adrian Durham has to pour cold water over it, come out with a put down.
All we want is a little bit of glory and recognition from time to time, our club works just as hard as any premier league club does to try and be successful and people like that have to stamp all over it by saying that it should'nt happen.

Everything he says is to get a reaction. It's no coincidence that station is nicknamed talkSHITE.

Although, in a roundabout way I kind of agree. I mean if we're about taking maybe 25k, how much better would it look taking up half of Villa Park or the like instead of under 1/3 of Wembley?

Quite simply is his job to provoke a reaction. It would be a boring show if everyone agreed all the time.

And while somewhere like Villa Park would hold the numbers we take in a better light, you just can't beat playing at our national stadium - no matter how shit the new one is. At the start of each tournament, the dream for little clubs like ourselves   is to play at Wembley and, to me at least, dreaming of playing at somewhere like Villa Park just isn't the same.

Talksport is the Daily Sport of Radio, it even come with more than it's fair share of tits.

Yep his sole argument was that the players shouldn't be playing at Wembley as there were better players in higher leagues who'd never get the chance to play at Wembley. What he failed to mention was that it's more about the supporters and our chance to see our teams play there.

He was being his usual dickhead self. We weren't brilliantly represented by the Swindon fan tbh, although the Pox fan came across better and sided with us....!

Talksport is a joke. How anyone can take any of their presenters seriously is beyond me. Their peak-time line-up is quite incredible. Brazil, Irani, Durham, Gough, that Moose gimp... laughable!

I get what's been said about playing at Wembley. My first cup final irrespective of it's stature is quite exciting.

If you took the JPT Final away from Wembley I think it would kill the competition, although there is money to be made from reaching the final its the dream of all players, Fans & Boards to go to Wembley. Would it have been as exciting on Tuesday being 90 minutes away from Villa Park? we could take 30k to Wembley but I doubt we would take many more than 15k-20k for many other venues other than maybe Old Trafford

Totally agree, the prize for the fans is seeing your local club play at the National stadium, and that's what it's all about...

If some ginger bloke who thinks that season tickets come from sky, and doesn't understand that for a lot of smaller clubs the chance of seeing your team play at Wembley (in your lifetime!) is the holy grail... well he can go fuck himself frankly!

He's just a presenter who's on a constant wind up. 99% of what he says is reaction provoking stuff to get callers ringing in and having a go back.

Before the game with Burton he was going through the games that were off and he said ours was still on because we had hay on the pitch! Oh, how we all laughed!

Ah the old hay on the pitch scam....back in 85/86 we played six away games in a row and won the lot because the CG was frozen despite the extravagant amounts of hay on the pitch...which was costing us a small fortune billed to director Colin Howard, the excess added up to just about the difference in money, between the perceived gates receipts and actual gate receipts.... :)

The Football League obviously want to run the competition for its members.
To add some incentive they choose to hire Wembley stadium to stage the final.
Wembley Stadium Ltd (and their parent the FA) are happy to allow this to occur so why not?   Who is it hurting?

I presume he uses the same argument for play-off finals too?

Would it also apply to the FA Cup or Carling Cup if a lower league team happened to make the final?

And should there be a rule to make Premier League teams field their strongest team is any cup finals just to make sure that sub-standard players didn't touch the hallowed turf.

I've never found anything remotely worth listening to on Talksport and don't think I'll start searching now.

And then there's the FA Trophy Final... perhaps that should be played at Hereford. Just to make it fair, you know.

I remmember him saying that Pompey shouldnt be allowed to be promoted to the Premier League after they had won the 2nd tier title by some distance, because Fratton Park was a dump.

To be fair the only presenters who don't try and be as controversial in their views are Hawksby & Jacobs. They generally talk a fair amount of sense. Alan Brazil has calmed down a lot, Keys and Gray are awful, and Durham and Gough are just on the wind up, constantly.

I used to enjoy Talk Sport.I almost miss getting wound up by Jon Gaunt every day and Parry was brilliant ,like listening to a live Tabloid hack coming up with nuts ideas...
