Fjortoft was before my time, so of the johnny foreigners I've seen it would have to Commingues or Brezovan (pre-injury).

Thankfully most of the rubbish over the years have made less than 20 appearances (but still too many in a number of cases)

I dont know why but I really liked Nestor Lorenzo.  And like many others Dossevi has been one of the biggest disasters in my mind.  More the expectation than anything else.  Thought he was going to tear the league a new one, but disappeared up his own one.

I always thought Nalis was pretty decent.

Worst -Marko Tuomela (well, he definitely didn't play 20 games, probably only 20 minutes), Adrian Bakalli? Although he only managed one game, and what a game that was, yet another tactical masterstroke by Mr Andy King.

So to play by the rules - Sabin (Made Dossevi look like Maradona) he had speed and absolutely nothing else. He then turned out for the yellow filth which makes him worse than Hitler.

Best: Jan, naturally.

Worst: So many possibilities. I'd have to go for Griemink, if pushed.

Chris Hay after his first 13 games was the worst I've seen.  Though that's probably because of the unrealistic expectations after THAT start  :(

Roy Wegerle should count as one of the best.

I know he did not make 20 appearances but as a kid I'll always remember Roy Wegerle coming to us on loan and him being a player like i've never seen before in a swindon shirt, I think that's why macari never took up the option of buying him as he seemed a luxury player at the time.

Worst I'd have John Buttigieg if i could but as it's 20 appearances I'll take Darren Bullock, i know he's English but judging how he went about playing football it seemed very foreign to him, almost alien.

Ricky Shakes probably a contender,  I missed a lot of the the 'todd' and 'Quinn' reign, it appears i didn't miss much

See, I've always quite liked Sabin for his Oxford spell in which he successfully led them out of the League.

Surely Talia would have been worse, Griemink did actually have a few good games where as Talia had a few good minutes.

Forgot about him, he was fuckin brilliant, worst one has to be either Sabin or Zaaboub. Nestor Lorenzo was a typical South American, if he couldn't get the ball he was taking you out!

18 starts + 20 from the bench - cannot believe it was that few, but think his appearances coincided with the short period that I was local enough to get to home games regularly!

I fucking loved Eric Sabin... Don't forget he scored the winner versus Mansfield to end a 7 game losing streak under Andy King.

For me, Danny Invincibile was the best.  Worst, with the 20 game qualifier, would have to be Dossevi - mainly as he was so bloody frustrating to watch.

Don't think I ever had the plasure of watching sabin play, did his game extend beyond running towards the area really fast and then falling over?

Dossevi gets my vote though Brian Kilkline was foreign in that he comes from a differnet planet.

After he broke his leg in the reserves (against Millwall?) he was awful. Which was a shame, as before then he looked a player.

Dossevi without a doubt has to be not just the worst foreign singing but the worst ever in all football. The guy was just fucking hopeless. i have never seen someone run like they were wearing the boots from a deep-sea diver.  i cannot believe how often i kept turning up to watch that spaz :suicide:

Nestor Lorenzo was the best for me. World Cup finalist, always looked like he was about to maim someone and be sent off. Opposing strikers seemed to sense it too.

Dossevi could run though, which was the problem as he kept running goal side of the defenders.

The one thing you cant accuse Dossevi of not doing is running, that's all he had going for him.

Come on...people forget Talia was player of the season one year and did bloody well in an atrocious side. He was judged after years of having a club legend in goal. Griemink was never, ever, a good goalkeeper. He made Phil Smith look as fierce as Schmiechel (the real one).

I heard that we couldnt afford the £75k to buy him at the time.

Talia was a far better keeper than Griemink.

Fjortoft was probably the best but Lorenzo was my favourite of the imports just for being a current world cup winner and for being an animal on the pitch!

Cuervo and Wegerle (only 7 games) were good.

As for the worst, the skys the limit, good job there is a 20 game minimum or the list would be as long as your arm, Sabin, Darras (for his 1st season at least), Pericard, Casal (only 6 games), Onionbhaji (only 17 games) and Shakes if they count as technically both were British.

Saw Jan-Agge on German TV yesterday, he was one of the pundits, punditing on the live Hamburg- Bayern Munich game. I was in Kennedy's, an Irish bar here in Munich,  :pint:  mainly watching the Scotland-England rugby game. The footie was on one of the smaller screens. Jan-Agge has quite long hair now. He was, as usual talking a lot of sense, and telling the other pundits about our win at Southend.

Actually, the sound was off on the footie, but I'm sure he would have been talking about Swindon...
