Title: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: oxford_fan on Monday, January 23, 2012, 18:17:16 Not anymore. It happened last time the national job was vacant, Redknapp strongly linked and made favourite to land it, only for this type of thing to surface and scupper his chances. Now its happened again:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-16677743 The FA won't touch someone who's gone through that, certainly in Italy it would make him a stronger candidate, but now the person who almost everyone agrees would be our best bet, will be ruled out. So we're left with Alan Pardew. Great. Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: Nemo on Monday, January 23, 2012, 18:20:14 We want Woy, we want Woy!

So we're left with Alan Pardew. Great. Erm innocent until proven otherwise. As for the FA they were effectively ordered by UEFA to appoint Venables despite his background - don't rule that out happening again. Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: oxford_fan on Monday, January 23, 2012, 18:24:43 Having an offshore account in the name of your dog isn't exactly the normal way to do banking, but I guess he might get off with a good lawyer.
Aah Woy is a good shout, the most blatantly Jewish non-Jew ever. I googled it a while back and he's definitely not Jewish. Not a bad second considering the other candidates, which is saying very little. Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: LucienSanchez on Monday, January 23, 2012, 18:32:15 I'd rather someone went after Vodafone for the £6bn they owe in tax rather than waste money on this...
But yeah, the FA might not be too keen after all this. Don't see why it should matter though, so long as he serves his punishment. Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: ghanimah on Monday, January 23, 2012, 18:37:45 Having an offshore account in the name of your dog isn't exactly the normal way to do banking... Allegedly. It matters not if it's normal or otherwise, what counts if it's legal. Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: Family at War on Monday, January 23, 2012, 19:10:54 If guilty why should these two get away with it? They are effectively laughing in the face of you and I - the average working bloke who pay their taxes every week and would be grateful for a tax rebate of two or three hundred quid. I have paid thousands over the last few years in Corporation Tax and IHT as I am sure many of the TEF fellas have in income tax. Would you be happy working next to anybody earning twice as much as you through tax evasion? Redknapp is just another dodgy barrow boy in the mold of Venables.
Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: sheepshagger on Monday, January 23, 2012, 19:15:12 Or he might be entirely innocent of doing anything wrong at all.....
But nothing like making your mind up before the verdict, eh ? Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: Family at War on Monday, January 23, 2012, 19:17:19 Believe it starts 'If Guilty'
Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: THE FLASH on Monday, January 23, 2012, 19:21:28 vendables got the job and he is hardly Mr legit?
Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: thedarkprince on Monday, January 23, 2012, 19:33:51 I'd rather someone went after Vodafone for the £6bn they owe in tax rather than waste money on this... Tax avoidance vs tax evasion. Two different things especially when there's an incompetent head of Tax Collection at HMRC who's willing to do a deal. Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Monday, January 23, 2012, 21:40:44 Is he likely to go down for this? Or most likely a slap on the wrist and a lot of bad publicity.

Or most likely a slap on the wrist and a lot of bad publicity. I imagine it'd likely be a fine consisting of the tax, interest and a penalty of either 100%, 200% or 300% of the tax owed. In some cases it can lead to a custodial sentence but this seems to be fairly low amounts (in relation to some real dodgy bastards). Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: nevillew on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 10:18:54 I wonder if he's on the same sort of 'commission' re selling players at Spurs ? - If so expect Bale and Modric to be off soon. I'd imagine Levy has got that sewn up though.
Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: Ginginho on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 10:24:44 Give it to Holloway.
Imagine him as England manager, how fucking hilarious would that be? Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 11:58:42 Makes absolutely no difference who the next manager is.
Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: Bosey on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 12:02:17 Holloway would be funny as fuck but I dont understand why Stuart Pearce hasn't been given the job... He has so much passion for the game and this country.

He has so much passion for the game and this country. Passion alone doesn't work, look at Keegan for example. Anyways I agree with arriba, it doesn't matter who they end appointing it'll end in the same hysteria and disappointment it has done for the past 40 years. They have to look at how young players are being developed in this country, grass roots is key not Redknapp or whoever comes in to replace Capello. Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: Bosey on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 12:41:57 Point taken.
I read a while back they wanted to stop kids under 13 playing organised 11 a side in favour of 9 a side, Futsal etc for the purpose of development... anyone remember that? I read a while back they wanted to stop kids under 13 playing organised 11 a side in favour of 9 a side, Futsal etc for the purpose of development... anyone remember that? Yep, that is still kicking around. I think the North Wilts league switched to 9 a side for this season, and my youngest lads coach was talking to parents at the weekend about the likelihood of the mid wilts league following next season. It is expensive for clubs as it means having different sized goals and extra line marking machines . It is on costs like this that the FA should be making money available to grass roots. It is frustrating that they will piss away millions a year on a national manager but won't pay for some goal posts for 11 year olds. He just comes across as a west country twat who likes the sound of his own voice. Title: Re: Harry Redknapp - The next England manager Post by: Ginginho on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 18:53:31 I can understand why people don't like him, but I think he's great.
