Currently using "Sophos" and get the feeling it's not doing very much... Title: Re: AVG antivirus software Post by: Barry Scott on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 13:56:29 Have you got a virus on your Mac then? I bought one and used it (Virus Barrier X6), but it found nothing and I hated it. I then decided it was a resource hog and haven't bothered since - you can have that if I can find the serial.
You could also try Clam. http://www.clamxav.com/ Title: Re: AVG antivirus software Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 15:16:35 Sophos is one of the best AVs on the market.

Did plan on grabbing Avast/AVG but MSE seems to be doing the job just fine. If Sophos is decent i'll stick with it.. Cheers. I wouldn't even worry about an AV. There's not any known viruses for OSX and only a few bits of spyware and malware, all of which are near impossible to find let alone get infected by. Just get a firewall, I recommend Little Snitch, and then if you do somehow get something that doesn't really exist you'll know about it before it can become a problem. :) http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/switcher-hangout/209182-official-antivirus-malware-firewall-faq.html |
