Title: Keith Scott Post by: Dazzza on Monday, July 18, 2005, 22:49:35 Quote FORMER Premiership footballer Keith Scott has joined Northwood as player-coach. The 38-year-old, who scored Swindon's first ever goal in the top flight, also saw service with Norwich City and Wycombe Wanderers. The prolific striker joins the Woods after an injury-hit season with Windsor and Eton. And he is not the only new face at Chestnut Avenue. One of the club's favourite sons, Chris Gell, has returned home after one season with AFC Wimbledon. The 29-year-old, who spent ten years with Northwood and made more than 450 appearances for the clubbefore his move, decided to come back because he found the travelling too much. Woods boss Mick Harvey is still looking to boost his squad in time for the league opener at home to Merthyr Tydfil on August 13. http://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/sport/sporttopstories/display.var.614200.0.expremiership_man_joins_woods_as_player_coach.php Title: Keith Scott Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, July 18, 2005, 23:11:22 Clearly crap as John Moncur scored our first ever goal in the Prem......did score the goal that got our first win mind.

Title: Keith Scott Post by: Spencer_White on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, 16:50:15 Keith Scott did score a cracking last minute winner against Reading once though. It was great.
And Andy Mutch is centrepiece of the greatest bit of TV footage ever recorded at the county ground. The equaliser against Newcastle and ensuing cartwheel celebration in front of an ecstatic Shrivvy road terrace. They were both shit, but I liked Mutch. Title: Keith Scott Post by: Bedford Red on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, 19:30:58 Keith Scott started well, scored on debut against Ipswich, the winner against QPR a few days later, then got one away at Liverpool and scored the winner against Southampton a week later, 4 goals in the first month.
Then Fjortoft finally got his first goal, couldn't stop scoring after that and Scott didn't score another goal that season. I've seen worse, he had 12 by the following xmas in Div 1 when McMahon sold him to Stoke for 300k, think quite a few of those were in the cup though. |
