My pride and joy TV has decided to die and before I banish it to the great skip in the sky, I was wondering if any of you nice folk knew of anyone who could come out and give me a free estimate to repair it, in order for me to make a judgment call Many thanks Love Fred x Title: Re: TV Repairman help Post by: Dirty Harry on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 18:10:09 Don't know anyone that will come out for free but i once had my television die on me and i took it to Bugdens on county road and it was something like £40 to find out the damage and £110 to fix so a total of £150 so if its a good tele i would go there as its better to spend a couple of hundred to fix than a fortune on a new one. This was three years back and the tv still going strong.

My TV died in October less than 2 years after I bought it from Burdens - it was going to cost around £400 to fix - after a bit of complaining and name dropping in the end it cost me £0. Bought it from Comet and fook knows why i thought it was called bugdens but i didnt have a problem with the repair but dont sound like you had it good at all mate. Have you got proof of purchase? Take it back to the retailer and/or contact the manufacturer.

For Fred's problem i'd contact the place where the tv was purchased first,as the big retailers have their own repair services. Might get it cheap-free if you moan enough? Arriba The TV is nearly 7 years old and bought from Tesco's subsidised by a shed load of Clubcard points. Naturally, the 10 year old sales assistant when I went in yesterday was about as useful as tits on a fish.
