Demand his sacking?

How DARE a manager celebrate his first ever last minute win and let his emotions over run and then apologise all all concerned.

Just give him a reprimand and lets move on.

No doubt it'll be a long time, just because he's Di Canio and we're Swindon.

Keep schtum on this one Giginho- we can get him off on a technicality.

Didn't Barry Fry used to do that all the time when he was manager?

He may have not run on the pitch thinking about it.

Probably a 5 game ban reduced to 3 on appeal.

5 games is ridiculous, seeing as Suarez got 8 games for being racist.

Where has this 5 games figure come from?

Title: Re: Paolo Charged For THAT Celebration

I think the FA should examine the video of Paolo celebrating like it mattered and then examine the hours of video of other dour faced managers behaving like souless emotion free cunts and charge them with bringing the game into disrepute.

No matter what the length of the ban or the fine is, I'm still glad he done it. Paolo is ace FACT!

I'd have thought a warning to PDC would be appropriate for a first offence, however he got sent off against Oxford and we didn't hear anything...maybe the warning was given then and now he's being charged?...Hmmm  :hmmm:

I wouldnt change the celebration for the world though...it was that damn good!!!

Think its a bit ridiculous that players can make bad tackles and get away with nothing, yet if Paolo runs onto the pitch to celebrate a 93 minute winner with his players then he gets punished? stupid.

Didn't Barry Fry used to do that all the time when he was manager?

Fair play to PDC, how about when Mourinho ran down the touchline when Porto scored at the end of the Champions League game at Old Trafford? Nothing happened to him did it?    It's just the emotion taking over and shows what it means to win, surely just a warning will suffice

Keep it quiet and then when it comes to the suspension, just claim that nobody called "Paolo Di Canio" was on the touchline. Can't argue with that.

They are largely irksome but if that was Aidy Boothroyd celebrating TEF'ers would be calling him an "utterly loathsome cunt and I'm glad he got fined"

... and then DMR would mock you for being sensitive.

Absolutely Reg. There is no way in earth he was not going to get punished for that. If an opposing manager (i.e. Boothroyd if they had scored in the last minute) did it to us this forum would go into meltdown. The passion's great but he has to calm it down just a little.

Based on our previous dealings with the FL, if we get away without a £250k fine and being demoted to the BSP I would consider it a success.

We can't ask PdC to calm it down one iota. He is what he is and we do what we do because he is what he is.

£2k fine and a 5 match touchline ban I feel will be given out by the FA/FL.

The fine won't hurt him but the touchline ban surely will.

Fergie got 5 games last season for saying Martin Atkinson shouldn't have been in charge of the Man Utd /Chelsea game and for then trying to fight the charge.

If its more than a slap on the wrist or one game for PDC I would be very suprised.

It was picked out of thin air by me in that sentence, hence why I stated "I feel".

I just have a feeling that they will hit him hard with a touchline ban after his tocuhline antics vs the Pox which went pretty much unpunished.

As long as its improper conduct and not inciting which is one they could pull out of the bag, but very unlikely IMO.

Yeah he got a 4 game ban, but it was dropped on appeal after all the other clubs said they didn't want him in the Directors Box for games as he would eat so much of the free buffet it would bankrupt them!

Its also his second red of the season isnt it, which I would think would increase the ban - like when a player gets his second red of the season.

I think the fact that he admitted he was wrong and apologised after the game to Boothroyd & the Ref has probably worked in his favour. Also the fact that he didn't make any sort of gesture to the home fans.

He had to get some sort of ban, so one game is as good as we could have hoped for.

The law states he can be 10 metres away from his seat so...which direction is that?

He can stand at the edge of the technical area if it's big enough (and if it's 10 metres away)

He can also give team talks pre, half time and post and communicate with other staff to pass messages.

Not really a ban then is it!!

Really? What precedent or justification is there for getting a harsher punishment?

A second red card for a Player brings an additional 1 game ban. (ie Kompany getting 4 games instead of 3).
On that basis he had to get at least one game, didn't he?
