Title: Rotherham Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, 21:43:26 Anyone going to this? More to the point would anyone fancy picking me up from Coventry on the way? Will pay petrol money/share driving/cook you a nice dinner
Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: betty_swollox on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, 23:59:05 I am. Think this is a must for town fans in London.
I got my train ticket from Kings Cross for £20 return and it's only about an hour and a half journey as well. Only problem is I hear it's a bit of trek from the nearest station (Meadowhall) to the Don Valley. Going up with a load of Cardiff fans who have Doncaster that day. Last time I went there I saw Kelly Holmes break the British 800m or 1500m record. Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: suttonred on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 06:47:17 Yes I'll be there as bs said above it's quite easy from London, get into Sheffield around 12.45 i think. The Don valley is on the end of the tram line, about 15 mins apparently.

Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: Langers on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 09:49:53 I got my train ticket from Kings Cross for £20 return and it's only about an hour and a half journey as well. Where did you get it for £20? Can't find that price anywhere. Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: betty_swollox on Thursday, January 5, 2012, 16:46:04 Got it a couple of weeks ago on Trainline. Just seen they've gone up to about £45 on there now.
A lot to pay out so soon after Christmas. Sorry for giving out false hope. Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: Langers on Thursday, January 5, 2012, 16:49:07 No worries. Might still go anyway. :)

Just tried to buy a ticket from Kings Cross, no go, no trains from there to Sheffield!!! Got to go to St Pancras!! Through trains every half hour or so from there, £45 return.I got my train ticket from Kings Cross for £20 return and it's only about an hour and a half journey as well. Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: betty_swollox on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 08:17:49 Yeah St Pancras to Sheffield, but I'm going via Doncaster to Meadowhall so its Kings Cross for me. There isn't much difference in journey time anyway.
Will this possibly be our lowest away following of the season? Haven't heard many people saying they're going? Not great timing to have such a tie after Xmas when so many went are going to Torquay, Northampton, Wigan and Barnet tonight. Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 08:54:45 Probably will be our lowest, as we've had some big games and big followings recently, no one has endless pockets. Sure there will be 300 odd at least though.
Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: Abrahammer on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 09:29:30 The Withdean-esq view from the away end put me off this one, won't be going to Rotherham until they get a ground of their own.
Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: BelfastRobin on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 11:16:42 Coming over from Belfast for this, finally been permitted a weekend off work. Can't stay caged in Belfast with all that's going on under Di Canio these days, very excited, even if it is a shit ground.
Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 17:23:36 Thought about going, but like others it's just too much money after all the recent fun!

Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: Devizes_Red on Thursday, January 12, 2012, 12:18:14 I shall be making my way up to Rotherham with the animal that is ibelieveinmrreeves. The appeal of watching football in a desolate, 25,000 seater athletics stadium was just too much excitement. I still expect us to take between 300-500 up to The Don Valley.
I might even put £1 on Alex Revell scoring the first goal, it is bound to happen, we all know that. Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: jayohaitchenn on Thursday, January 12, 2012, 16:37:24 That's it now! I ain't coming again.

I notice there's alot of people sounding like they live in the London area. Is there an organised "London Robins" type of group or anything that travels to matches ? I live in Hertford, and the wife is always demanding the car, so makes travel difficult. basically, I'm afetr sponging the occasional lift. I am very much a part time supporter nowadays, but I have paid my dues previousely. Oh, and how do you get one of those picture icon things ? Title: Re: Rotherham Post by: Notts red on Thursday, January 12, 2012, 22:23:55 Welcome, whilst its on the agenda are you sure you want to have that user name ? :)
