The wife's got one. She doesn't use it any more as it's only 2GB. Maybe worth sending back to see what they send as a replacement.

Worth a shot Sam. Guy on another forum said he got back one of the 6th Gen touchscreen Nano's

Just found it, it is part of the recall so I've arranged for collection. Would be nice to get a 6G, that'll go straight on eBay :)

Still waiting on my repair to be returned. Fingers crossed for a 6th gen, people are definitely getting them at the moment.

It took them 2 weeks to send the return packaging and a further 2 weeks to acknowledged they had received the ipod. This was 12th December, status has been stuck in "product replacement pending" so there may be a bit of a backlog. The reports of UK units being shipped back only started a couple of days ago.

Shame it isn't on the 1st gen ipod classic. I'd love to have it replaced free of charge.

Time to get on ebay and buy a load on the cheap to "send back".

Sent three back around 3 weeks ago. Got one back today, 6th Generation Graphite model 8gb. As nice as it is, I miss the old one. It looks ever so pretty  :cry:

FFS! I sent mine about 26th November and still nowt :)

Got my return envelope the day after I ordered it. Hopefully shouldn't be too long.

For others who returned them, were there any return instructions or owt in your pack? All I got was a plain white jiffy bag and a plastic return envelope to send it in. No letter or anything.

There was a letter that basically said put nano in jiffy(no accessories), put jiffy in plastic bag, take to PO, make sure you get proof of postage.

Ah good, because that's what I did. Was just worried that there was no insert to go in the jiffy bag with the repair number or anything.

Nah nothing for the jiffy bag itself, I had the same worry at the time.

Sent my iPod back about 3 days ago.

Now the waiting game.

Woot. Got my apple email, Knackered 1G 2GB sent, 6th gen 8gb on the way back.

I'm also being sent a new iPod nano :)

I hadn't received an email from Apple, but just checked my repair status online and it looks as though my new Nano is on it's way :)

The repair status had changed this morning. I didn't receive the email until 8pm.

Looks like they are just shipping a load en mass now.

Well it arrived today and seems, um, small. I'm bound to lose it.

Thanks Apple. Knackered 2GB 1st gen sent in, shiny new 8GB 6th gen back.

Got my second one back today. Seems they only give out graphite models.

Received mine today. Default language set to Chinese :doh:

Mine changed to that on the 7th too. I didn't get any update until an email arrived this morning saying the replacement had been shipped yesterday.

Ah right cheers.

Hopefully a new one should be on the way then.

Forgot to say, mine turned up last Saturday.

A lovely silver 8gb Nano.
